Let's be honest here, Gen 6 were really underwhelming. Kalos feels incomplete and lifeless - also too much nostalgia pandering and the region looks more like 3D Kanto than anything. ORAS were also very underwhelming because this is the first "remake" per say where they take out content instead of adding it.

Also the 3D Pokemon models look lifeless compared to 2D sprite, not to mention the embarrassing framerate drops. 3D environments in general look like generic perfectly maintained grasslands similar to Pokemon anime.

People always scream for 3D pokemon, but it looks too lifeless compared to spritework now that we have it. We might be seeing the end of Pokemon cycle here.
