What pattern is there anymore? Even the first batch of Megas didn't really have a discernable pattern to them, and OR/AS pretty much blew anything else that would limit Megas out of the water. It's like the developers are children themselves. One thing common to both instance, though, is that it always had a starter set, but which one? It depends on where they're going next or what they think people want more. Honestly, though, none of the starter sets left are even remotely prominent, and they'd have to pull something really fantastic to change that.
