I've come to the conclusion that my favorite music in the series is Gen IV, specifically D/P
HGSS had some great music, like New Bark Town, but some changes to old music like Goldenrod and Kanto Gym themes let it down.

I replayed crystal recently and didn't remember how beautiful that theme was. I almost never stop playing just to take in the music, but I couldn't help myself there.

Gen 3 and 4 had the best league themes. Instead of going for dramatic intimidating music they give you upbeat/mellow music with a "reflect on how far you've come" vibe.
