How do you guys do competitive battling on the cartridge? Do you do it at all? Do you play online or just bother with the Frontier/Maison in your games?

Personally, I did random matchup in 5th gen and now 6th. Played a little of 4th but it was rough digging around for battles. I'm beginning to get kind of fed up with random and just do battle facilities now though. Don't bother with showdown.

I only do ranked triples on battle spot, only because you can use all 6 pokemon.

I try to find friends IRL or some random community groups online who are looking for a good battle. TBH, some of the online groups are hit-or-miss because either they REALLY fucking suck or they bitch when you win with something they don't like.

I haven't done ranked yet because some of my stuff is Unova bred and I'm not breeding half my stuff over again just to play ranked battles. I suffer for it though because free random is infested with legendaries. Also currently disgusted with the maison so I'm back on HG grinding the frontier.

I honestly don't find competitive all that interesting. Call me a nostalgia fag if you want but battles lost meaning after you could do them all the time over the internet.

I liked it when battling someone was a real event face to face that only happened occasionally, it made them a lot more meaningful. I can still remember most of the battles I had up until gen4.

I tried doing it and I was enjoying but once uber legends became the team of everyone and their grandmother i just gave up on it. I still like pokemon a lot. I like to battle, but I'm too much torn between being a karenfag and being a smogontard that i fail to enjoy both.

I can win battles with my actual real-life friends but when it comes to battlespot or even in showdown i'm a complete scrub

plus, I'm not good with building synergistic teams, i just use pokemon i find awesome and powerful looking
