i said this in the Articuno thread, but Magic Guard only fixes half the problem with Artie.

Yes, it can switch in on sneaky pebbles (which aren't that common on cart anymore, which is what GF cares about), but it's still a defensive mon with a shitty defensive type.

If they modify Hail to be buff up the Defense of Ice-types the way Sandstorm buffs Rock-types, then that'd be a start, and you could give it Snow Warning.

But honestly, I think Delta Stream, or at least a lesser version (the Drizzle to its Primordial Sea, basically) is the way to go:

It's meant to be a legendary, it's high time it acted like one.

It's a bird. A legendary bird. A legendary bird with defensive stats. Why shouldn't it get an ability that lets it whip up winds to defend itself?

Even fucking Politoed can make it rain. Why wouldn't the Legendary Birds make it windy?

You'll have to run grass knot to avoid being walled by slowbro or quagsire, and ice punch if you don't want to be walled by gliscor or lose to lando-t. meteor mash is the STAB of choice and hits like a truck thanks to its ability, leaving only one moveslot left, usually for hammer arm to not lose to any given steel type (even though it still can't beat bulky scizor).
and Regigigas?
Its signature move has 121 bp if the target has full health and out damages megagross meteor mash even with tough claws
Having access to all of the elemental punches is important, especially fire punch letting it hurt steel types better due to dealing much more damage to ferrothorn and guaranteeing a OHKO on scizor if it hasn't already come in and mega evolved (and even if it has, 84 Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Regigigas: 91-108 (21.4 - 25.4%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery). It also has drain punch for recovery, meaning a set utilising its large 110/110/110 bulk could be usable
Regigigas also has the all important knock off
It even has rock polish and the coveted edqequake for coverage

look m8 i don't think it's much of a stretch to make articuno offensive since already it was that way back in the gen I days. i'm not trying to make stupid shit up, i think it's honestly reasonable.
if you make it defensive, articuno will always be mediocre since it's a terrible defensive typing, at least with some fast and offensively oriented (which was what it was in gen I) it has somewhat of a niche.
the way it is right now is just literally regice beta version: now with double on the rocks
at least i'm not making up new abilities or whatever, just changing it somewhat to something that fits (since it was already offensive)
but hey whatever lmao delta stream xD

Wouldn't Special defense make more sense?
of course, the weakness to rock isnt mitigated much except HP, but the fire, electric, and ice weaknesses are toned down a little with a major Sp Def boost.
