So is there a type based of magic or anything like that?? like which type would best be linked with magic in your opinion.

Depends on what type of magic youre talking about.
If it's metaphysical bullshit, like manipulation of the physical world, then its Psychic. If it's directly applied to cast-ees, fairy magic. Also, if it's shiny and sparkly.

Psychic usually covers it, ghost not as much. Evidence: Victini, the embodiment of energy, is a Fire (physical energy)/Psychic (metaphysical) type

Psychic and Fairy are probably the closest. Fairies represent moreso the "unexplainable" magic and the power of the moon while Psychic is more about espers / psychological warfare. Ghosts are just paranormal.

Psychic and Fairy are the closest “magical-associated” types you can get it seems.

Psychic: Intelligent individuals who tend to have a talent in controlling magic spells from spell books or illusionary magic(Mages/Spell casters/Wizards/Magicians). Although spell casting just highlights the intellectual aspect of the type. Nothing can master the casting of spells more than the smartest of the average man.

Fairy: Supernatural beings that can somewhat emit their own type of magic. Either holy(light) or enchanted(sparkly fae) magic that can cast the impossible. Some creatures from fae can even create magical material from scratch. One of the Fairy type’s basis: the moon rabbit, where known to create magical potions that could grant immortality. That’s only in the Chinese story though.

The difference between those types is that psychics tend to borrow the knowledge of summoning magic to channel them. While fairies can already emit their own magic and use them differently for good or bad.

interesting theory, but why do the trainer classes that one would assume have magical properties always use ghost type pokemon. It could be potentially that we are to believe they summon spirits i guess, it just seems unusual. moves like hex and curse are also ghost type, could it be that ghost type is a special type of dark magic?

Psychic = Powers derived from the mind's perception and influence over the world. Trainers seem to be fairly normal aside from making their poke balls float around and having a bit of precognition.
Ghost = Otherworldly beings whose very existence is magical. Trainers are /x/ tier.
Fairy = Like Ghost, but they're taking the subtle route and are seemingly more benevolent or neutral. Creepiest and sometimes the most malicious sounding trainers. Always the dominant one when paired with a Ghost trainer, with stuff like using spells to make the Ghost trainer think the pair are sisters.
