I'm in the same boat. A lot of my favourite pokémon are ghost types, and I think a lot of ghost types would make good fighters.

I've been wondering how they'll handle it with Smash Bros... Considering there are 6 Smash pokemon now, 2 obvious ones are confirmed for Pokkén. Will they avoid the rest because of overlap? Make sure they get in because of promotion? Pretend Smash doesn't exist?

I'm surprised Lopunny hasn't already been announced. It just got a mega, would fit in a fighting game well, and can play the role of token waifu character along with Gardevoir.

What I'd like to see is a dragon type, with some type of dragon dance install super. temporary boost to attack and speed, maybe slowly drain the user's health while active?
And some kind of flyer, too, or at least something with great aerial mobility

They have to take Smash's existence into account if it's coming to Wii U because their consumers will. You know, the other massive ighting game with 6 playable Pokémon characters.

I know, but have you seen the controller? It was probably planned to eventually come to Wii U from the beginning. And even if it wasn't, history says a console version would probably add more characters than the arcade version.

I just think it's something they'd have to take into consideration when making choices is all.

i'm hoping for more diversity in terms of what can fight, we have a tiny pokemon(pikachu) and a 4 legged pokemon(suicun) but i wanna see more of that and less bipedal fighting pokemon

there's gotta be atleast 1 bug and 1 bird, and a psychic pokemon that acts differently than gardevoire. i'm hoping for Reinculus and Beedrill honestly

i also have a strange feeling they're going to introduce a new mega in this game somehow

As long as there is a balance, I don't see the problem with adding more Fighting-type Pokemon.

Well they are supposedly revealing one of the fighters that 'won' the Twitter competition they had, so that will be interesting to see. Hopefully it's not some over popular shit like Charizard or Greninja.

If Hawlucha isn't playable at all they will have fucking dropped the ball.

Greninja and probably Mewtwo are givens for Pokken. Charizard seems like he SHOULD be in, but I could also see them opting for Infernape and Blaziken instead. I don't imagine we'll be seeing Jiggs here though
