This. Seriously, M-Glalie's only problem is that it's forced to hold a Mega Stone. Not only is there a huge opportunity cost but it also prevents Glalie from holding better items. If it was a regular evo, you could just slap a Choice Scarf on it and wreck shit. I mean, Mamoswine is OU despite its base 80 Speed and unreliable Ice STABs. Scarf M-Glalie would be the #1 Dragon killer (and probably a general revenge killer too) with its powerful and reliable Ice-type Returns, and you could just explode it when you feel it has done its job. Even 252 HP / 252 Def+ Rotom-W takes around 50% from M-Glalie's Explosion so absolutely nothing besides Heatran would enjoy switching into that.

If its supposed to be a demon/oni then shouldn't be Ice/Dark instead? There are creatures from lore that aren't supernatural creatures like fairies ya know. Also its allready in the Fairy egg group, so Gamefreak is aware that it's a creature from yokai.

With more and more pokemon getting megas, they will eventually have to drop that ridiculous "one mega per team" restriction. This way a lot of megas such as Mega Glalie will become viable.

Could it be because of its better abilities?
One weakening its weakness and the other preventing Taunt? Because of two of the best offensive STAB typing? Or because of Endeavor? Or a rich coverage movepool? Or neutral SR damage?

No thanks, I'd rather not have my main mega destroyed by every bullet punch that connects.

Glalie is pretty cool though, one of my favorite megas. Nothing's more fun than a pokemon with moody that can actually make use of explosion once it mega evolves.

Give glalie play rough and tack on the diary dual type and it won't do much but it's just enough to make it a little more a threat with that added damage to dark types to make sure they go down.

Pikachu could easily be retyped to Fairy, it just isn't because it's too iconic. Look at Dedenne. There's no good reason why it's Fairy-type and all the other Pikaclones are not, except that it just happened to be introduced at the same time as the Fairy-type.

Also over half the fairies are based on creatures from lore(Xerneas,Mawile, the moon rabbits) and are different interpretations of actual fairies/angels/dryads(Clefable/Gardevoir/Florges). The only Fairy that isn't matching any mythological or fae creature basis is Dendene. It's existance for being a Fairy is a complete joke. Competitive and lore wise.
