Next, to get the iron wall back on track. Deoxys had ignored Sathlos last round, fortuitous for Hans as he now had need of the steel beast. "Stahlos, break off and provide me with cover!" Both master and servant made a mad dash towards Garland and the injured Mike.

Last, something needed to be done about that Deoxys and Lugia. Hans had Scherox who could deal with both, but it was downed and would require some time before it returned to proper form. In the mean time, someone else would have to deal with the alien threat.

"You!" Hans shouted to Paula, who had been standing around lacking real use ever since the jeweled gremlin had stolen the bag of heals from her. "I need you to buy me some time. If you know something that can damage that Deoxys, use it and take that damned alien down!"

Last time on Poke Ball Z...
Mike and his team were faring worse than they'd been just a few minutes prior. Their initial round of attacks against legendary foes had gone wide, leaving them open to counterattacks.

Mike himself had tried to tangle one up and render it unable to interfere, but he'd messed it up quite badly and gotten himself caught. Only a timely assist from the remaining Garland had broken him free, but he'd picked up a nasty burn just by making contact with the space virus. [No action this round, as he has no medicine on him.]

Paula, one of Mike's Gardevoir, had been caught primarily in a defensive and support role up to this point. After having lost control of the team's medical supplies and seeing Mike in trouble, it was time for her to take offensive. -Understood!- She'd recently picked up a Choice Scarf from a teammate, so whatever attack option she chose she'd be locked into it. The pick was decided in a moment; the first of hopefully many Shadow Balls was directed toward the enemy Deoxys. [0 lowers SpDef.]

Leila had fought well, taking down quite a bit of the clown's forces, but the Wigglytuff had met her match against Deoxys; the space virus was just too strong for her. Flopping face down, it was clear she was out of stamina. Mike was able to ignore the pain of the burn long enough to perform a recall, but for now no replacement was coming.

The spell had almost hit, which wouldn't have been bad for the thief himself, just good for Kefka, and that wasn't good. Or something.

Torn between attacking the Lugia and the clown, he decided that choosing was stupid, and directed his Articuno to use Ancientpower on the Lugia again, while Bakura himself sent another pulse of dark magic straight at Kefka.

The gasto acid would splash against some of the candles, dimming the glow and causing the shadows to circle around closer, the attacks to halt as the light grew dimmer, a series of crystals lighting up instead along each of the inner axis, none which would project any sort of attacks, the energy now just focusing inwards.

The tendril would let the man go free, but not before literally tossing the man towards Garland and attempting to slap the bag away a second time, by now merely buying more time for it's master.

The Pikachu would continue to somehow evade the ever present barrage of needles before the earth strike would slam into the pillar it was on, sending the small yellow rat flying across the room at high speed into the darkness.

The Lugia would take the hit from the ancient power and drop low barely hanging about the ground as it began charging up again, the legendary bird firing another blast of pure wind towards the weakened spider to finish it off.

The insane clown would take the chance of the last attack to pull free from the bird, the man coming to a landing in the center of the room before the shadowy darkness the dark light reflecting off the clown as he composed himself.

Paula had missed with her opening attack, the Gardevoir's Shadow Ball being too slow to catch the Deoxys. Speaking of keepaway, let's see how Heatran is faring in its quest to retrieve the bag of heals.

The volcano spirit made a lunge for the bag, only to bite bare stone as Deoxys kicked the prize out of reach. 'Fuck you Deoxys, that was my bag' would have been Heatran's retort, had the volcano spirit possessed the capacity to speak.

Well, looks like it's time to make another dive. Hopefully this time the bag is out of reach of that damn alien. It had better be.

Catching Mike, Garland staggers back in an attempt not to completely impale the man on his spiky shoulder plates. The arrival of a battered spider landing in a heal next to them meant his latest Pokemon was down, and with few options left he sent out a Venomoth in its place, pointing at the Deoxys. Then Garland looks between Mike and the Deoxys, sets Mike aside, and punches the alien with his gauntleted hand.

Mike himself was unable to avoid flying into Garland, the burn distracting him from even a cursory defensive effort. Between that grapple and the impact against a teammate's armor, he wasn't in the proper shape to continue the fight in any capacity... If he could just stay on his feet, though, he could at least prove useful in that regard.

Spotting the medicine bag as it scattered away, he made a desperate lunge to retrieve it himself. If he could get to it in time, he could make sure everyone else stayed up themselves... [As usual, evens succeed, odds fail.]

Bakura turned to the side as the spell flew past him, jumping off of his own bird back onto the ground. He could clearly feel just how much stronger that one had been, and sensed the increased energy...

His shadow would seem to grow, spreading out behind him, vaguely noticeable in the darkness... not that he'd give Kefka a chance to notice, following up with another slash at him.

Fortunately, he manged to get a hold of Mike before the Deoxys could grab him again, and promptly dragged the injured man away from the battlefield. Some quiet, forgotten corner where they were unlikely to be spotted, provided that such a corner remained forgotten for any length of time...

Once sure that they were suitably far enough away from the carnage, and Stahlos had taken his place as their defensive barrier, the Colonel went to work.

"I can remove the needles and give you something for the pain" said Hans; removing his jacket, he rolled up to create a makeshift cushion for the other man. "But I lack the ability to do anything about the burns."

He didn't even mention the viral contamination, which he also lacked the ability to treat. Few people were actually supposed to know about that, most of them being either old guard who were close to Lorenz, or the Rockets that engaged the first Deoxys several years back.

Six spheres of red and white, three on either side of his belt buckle; belt latches that supported the two holsters that rested on each of his thighs; a fighting knife in a leather sheath; two small pouches. The content's of Hans' belt were spartan and to be expected. A blue box was removed from one of the pouches, and once opened, it revealed a bevvy of (human) medical supplies. A roll of bandages and sealed gauze pads and alcohol swabs; implements for performing impromptu field surgery; a few small syrettes of morphine.

"This is going to hurt" Hans said, preparing a pair of tweezers to remove the needles. "Just try to keep still and it'll go quickly.

Two revives the Colonel took, one which he pocketed, the other which he used on one of his encapsulated comrades.

"I've got to get back in there" he said, taking the sack from Heatran and slinging it over his shoulder. "Think you can manage? Or do you need to sit the rest of this one out?"

The windy attacks and the shadow balls would be easily dodged by the living virus, but the distraction was enough for the Volcano pokemon to get some of the items away, but not without some getting scattered everywhere. Still with it's original goal lost the Deoxy would turn to the closest opponent, bracing against the blow as Garland rammed at it only to blast the Knight away with a Psychic strike, the distraction also leaving Mike out of the line of fire... for now. Paula as well was left out in the distraction as well but could she exploit it?

The Lugia would take flight again as the attack failed, the pokemon opening up with a spray of water at the Aerodactyl, the pokemon looking like it was about to heal up the moment it had the free chance to.

Mike had massively screwed up the lunge for the medicine bag, managing to grab only a pair of Revives as half the remainder of the contents scattered around the arena. Damnit... He had over a full team's worth of 'mons that needed attention...

And then he was dragged off by Lubeck. "Colonel, what the hell... Ow! Damnit, shoulda left those in. Woulda bled less that way." Not like they could do more damage than they'd already done to stay in... Besides, the burns were more important anyway. "...I think I got something, but I had hoped to keep him a secret a little while longer."

It took Mike a moment to get to his belt, but he tossed out one of the two Poke Balls left on it that contained a healthy 'mon. Mike had called out Iori, his Weavile, to help on the offensive. There was no time for him to waste, lunging at the new Gengar on the field with a Night Slash; a Focus Sash was cinched around the Weavile's waist. Normally the preferred tactic was for him to psych himself up first, but there wasn't time for that now. [0 crits because high odds.]

Paula was once again unable to deliver a solid blow, the Gardevoir starting to lose her focus. She was giving it her best, but that might not be enough. This wasn't a battle she could afford to simply give up on, though; she just had to keep trying with Shadow Balls aimed at the opposing Deoxys. [Once more, 0 lowers SpDef.]

Good call. A Weavile would be useful against everything currently on the field, assuming it could survive that long. And though Hans had wanted to use a revive on Metagross, he knew that there was someone else on his belt that would be more useful.

So it was that once more, the emerald Scherox took to the stage. The mantis and Heatran took their places alongside Stahlos, the trio awaiting orders from their master.

"Scherox, I need you to deal with Deoxys. Stahlos, aid Articuno in taking down Lugia. Heatran, back the Weavile up in taking down the ghost. Go."

Their orders given, the three lunged into battle. Scherox, the lightning-fast emerald blur, was within attacking distance of Deoxys in no time, leaping forward with a corkscrew kick.

Stahlos, staying close to its master, took advantage of the copious amounts of rubble to fling yet another large chunk of stone at the ocean bird.

With all his comrades getting to work, Hans decided that it was time he got to work too. As it was his turn to hold the bag, he began first towards the Spiritomb healer. Given its amazing abilities, keeping it healthy would be top priority.

The strikes would hit the already KOed bird as the clown recalled it, his hands suddenly going towards something as the attacks honed in on the Gengar, the creature suddenly gaining in size and strength as he triggered his biggest trick yet.
The pokemon responding by suddenly growing in size and strength before again opening up on the other Mega Pokemon with another Barrage of Shadow Balls.

Paula was having trouble keeping her own composure, the Gardevoir now having to deal with the triple threats of a Deoxys, a Gengar that had seemingly pulled a trick similar to the earlier Aggron... and now, Dialga itself had shown up to the fight. There was very little she could do other than to maintain her barrage of Shadow Balls at the space virus; she had to knock it out fast or it'd simply regenerate itself! [0 lowers SpDef.]

Iori had far less concern regarding his new opponents, the Weavile content to simply cut the opposing Gengar to ectoplasmic shreds. His Night Slash routine continued, eagerly seeking the ghost's fall. [0 crits because high odds.]

The spell took effect and with an anticlimactic 'pop', Wonderfag was banished to Xen. Struggling to his feet, BM finds his transformation had reversed upon being KO'd. A quiet beeping was ignored when he found his Spiritomb had disappeared and his opponent still up. "The hells? Wait... this happened before. PT!" The glitch would jolt to the mage's side. "Whatever you did to get back from wherever that cascade sent you, get doing that again." Crackling static in the air would be the only announcement that it was doing anything. Walking back into the fray, BM finally noticed the beeping and traced it back to his morpher. A small bar on the bottom of the status display had filled up further and was now blinking red and flashing the words 'Link Level Up!'. Curious, BM posed and activated his morph again. Surrounded in bright light, he felt it surge through him, this transformation taking longer.

The light fading, the Ranger is in a different, more fossil-themed power suit. It seems this 'teamwork' thing is rewarding. He commands in answer to the banishment spell, "Alfredsson! Let's show him what we think of his dragon!" The glitch energies already saturated by PT's charging gather at Alfredsson's feet as he touches the ground, sending a line of static through it at the Dialga.

"Fissure!"

The seam tears open, a black void rippling below and reaching out to try and force the time horse into it in good turn for Wonderfag's banishment.

Dodging around the shadow ball, Alfredsson is struck instead by waves of shadow and a sudden rain of flaming rock from the sky. The attacks pummel the Aerodactyl into the ground and leave it struggling to stand, the Ranger faring little better. His glitch companion remains a durable wall, but even with no visible damage it's surely fatigued as well. "Come on, come on, we need to keep going!" Alongside his Aerodactyl he desperately fights on, targeting the Deoxys in hopes of bringing it down before it can recover again.

At long last the Deoxy would go down from the combined strikes, the gengar itself not handing the strikes much better. Yet in the darkness of the room, there was another feeling of utter wrongness which was soon joined by something else appearing between the falling stars of the meteors.

The first would be familiar by reputation as the falling star pokemon took position behind the clown and the second, which would hover above them silently, would be more familiar to one of the people here.

The silence of the falling rocks would finally fade as the two legendaries hung there, before they two began their attacks.

Floating out of its hiding place in Kefka's hair, a small purple brick levitated in the air. The Black Mage had called an entire swarm of these things to his aid previously, but this glitch radiated a level of power equal to that swarm all on his own - even exceeding it. Once ordered to the offensive it felt like the thing was everywhere.

The state of reality in the area meant it didn't even need to charge power before ripping it apart even further. Beginning with the first on its master's list.

Floating over to Diabound, the tiny shape makes a clicking noise like arming a gun, then an explosion of warped reality bursts forth.

Maybe not. Strange things, reminiscent of the glitch army used by the mage, appeared in the arena.

"Stahlos, change of plans" Hans said. "The boy's... Creature, needs some help. Go back it up."

Nodding, the iron snake took off in the opposite direction, heading off to provide a hand (tail?) to Diabound. Unsure of what type (if any) the glitch was, Stahlos decided to play it safe with a flung piece of rubble.

Something snapped in Heatran's brain. Somehow, the volcano spirit had missed the fact that, in its mega form, the ghost no longer had an immunity to the forces of the earth. The realization clicked in Heatran's brain, and it loosed a furious blast of earthen energy at the enemy Gengar.

Mike had breathed a sigh of relief as the clown's major threats had been taken out. The Black Mage had gotten a hell of a shot off with that strike against Dialga, and Deoxys had run out of stamina as well. The Gengar was still up, but that would have to wait a moment.

Wait a minute... This guy had gotten his hands on Jirachi? Just how much more power was he going to call on? At this rate, Arceus showing up wouldn't be out of the question. Not to mention the clown had likely reinforced that Dialga... Had to admit it was fair, in a sense; what had their team been doing the whole time?

And then, the whole team saw overhead... The sight felt like a punch in the gut, knowing their friend had been turned against them. Mike's eyes had shot open, struggling to find the words. "...Selene... What did they DO to you?" This was the one fight he'd hoped to avoid in all this, though he knew he'd have to prepare for the possibility. Now that that time was here, though... If he'd eaten anything today, he'd have lost it by now. As it was, it tore him apart inside to have to make this call, but... "Paula, you're going to have to take this one! Everyone else, keep the rest of 'em busy!" To reinforce this decision, he'd returned Cassandra to the field, the Absol ready to go and starting off with a Night Slash aimed at the clown, that Razor Claw still around her neck. -What?! But I... I can't...- Paula was at a loss for words; the Gardevoir didn't want to hurt her friend! She couldn't!... Could she? '-What do I do?...-' [No attack this round; indecision will see to that.]

This time Alfredsson couldn't hang on for all its Mega power, collapsing under the dream deity's attack. BM returned the fossil and put it away, debating who to send out next. The arrival of an enemy glitch and the rapid degradation of reality due to the heavy use of glitch powers would be a problem if it continued, but he wanted to get back at that moon thing. Decisions, decisions. He took out the ball for his Albino Cave Scolipede, releasing the gigantic bug unto the battlefield. "Gavin, go for the moonbeast! PT, we have to stop that 'doom block' of his."

While Gavin went on a rampage the other two went to bring down the dangerous reality-bender. Of course there was still the Gengar on the field, but PT didn't need to choose between the two.

The weakened ghost would barely make the effort to dodge, clearly on it's last legs, but that didn't stop it from a rushed attack on the pokemon attacking it, it's weak body not even bothering to aim anymore.

The warped pokemon of dreams would make no sign of even hearing her, the pokemon apparently staring blankly ahead as if it couldn't even see them before firing another moonlit blast directly at Scherox.

So he got lucky, maybe the heat from his moth had helped, but his Ka was now free... to waste away from the burn and poison, burning up all of his Ba that kept him summoned? It took actual rest to restore that, and considering the coming attack...

"Practicing turning Shadow Magic into White Magic was a waste of time, I said. All of these healing items are way more efficient, I'll never have to worry about that, I said. Bullshit, and it's my own fault."

Worth a shot? He channeled as much magic as he could into the beast, trying to give it enough of a boost to overcome the toxins.

The strikes seemed to go wide everywhere, the Buzzing noise focing the Jirachi back and once again wide of sleeping attack, the wish kicking in seconds later to heal it of the worst of the damage, the other attacks being barely evaded by the flying star, with the annoying Venomoth continuing it's efforts the psychic strike was redirected towards it while the Cresselia switched to attacking Iori instead.

Mike needed a moment to think about this... What was he going to do? Clearly his own team was having trouble getting much of anything done, the clown definitely having the momentum at the moment. How was he going to get out of this one? Maybe there was another way...

"Paula! Take this and give it to Garland!" He still had one Revive on him, but he needed to make a handoff to put a new plan into action. 'I know this is crazy, but let's find out just how much so!' In a moment Mike had called out Jeff, his Magnezone, to battle once again. "All right, Jeff, I need you to get me up there!" The trainer and 'mon would take to the air to deal with the foe high overhead.

"Selene... I know some part of you is still in there somewhere, and I intend to find it, and I won't stop until I do. You want to attack me, that's fine, but I can't let you hurt anyone else." Mike was grasping at straws with his reasoning here, given that Selene hadn't attacked Paula despite the latter being barely on her feet. If his strategy against that giant monster was crazy, this was downright brainless... but it was the only shot he thought he had left.

Paula took a break from attacking to deliver the handed-off medicine to Garland, the Gardevoir dong the best she could to keep everyone on their feet. She didn't have anything to say this time...

Cassandra had taken quite a hit from the clown's flames, the Absol's fur bristling as some of it was singed. She'd been in tougher spots than this, though, and she kept up the Night Slash barrage. A single good shot would work wonders... [0, 2, or 4 crit.]

Iori had lost his earlier target, the Weavile no longer having a Gengar to cut through. The sudden burst of energy from above had made quite a cut through his defenses; the attacker was out of range, though, so he went after the enemy Jirachi with another Night Slash instead. [0 crits.]

Scherox's foot and Cassandra's claw were but inches from each other after the clown worked his magic, shuffling his attackers around like it was nothing. They exchanged glances for but a moment, before the heat of battle called them back into the fray, both lunging at the clown with ferocity.

The clown returned fire with actual fire, proclaiming "You like fire so much, have some more!" with glee as he did so. The magical flames licked at the Colone's trio of steel types. Scherox, also being a bug-type, would feel the most pain from the strike. Stahlos felt the fire, but not to the extent that Scherox did. And Heatran seemed to be rejuvenated by the flame, basking in the intense heat with a look of satisfaction.

"Why don't you cut the magical crap out" said Hans, discarding his now-useless flare gun "If it's me you want, why don't you fight me like a real man, instead of being a coward who has to hide behind magic tricks to win."

The combined force of attackers would crash into the mage, the first few strikes hitting home before there'd be a flash of light leaving the rest pure empty air, the clown revealing himself a few feet away looking battered, bruised and bloodied, but far less than he should have been.

The flash of light that would be floating beside him revealing the celebi that circled him. "He was right, this is useful."

The grass type would hover there before casting a single move, it's condition looking pretty bad as well.

Mike himself was busy evading an attack from a former friend, the Moonblast going by at the last second. Jeff, the Magnezone of his he was riding on, had dodged out of the way just in time to avoid a head-on attack. At least it hadn't hit anyone else... "Hold your ground, Jeff, but don't shoot back!" [No attack this round; they're focused on defending.]

Paula was exhausted herself, the Gardevoir having taken quite a beating as it was. She was still on her feet, though, and as long as she was she could focus on throwing out Shadow Balls, aiming for the Celebi that the clown had summoned this time.

Cassandra remained focused on the clown, the Absol continuing her Night Slash routine. There was no reason to do anything else, really; she might have a tough time smashing through that block, but no matter. [Again, 0, 2, or 4 crit.]

Iori was having a tough time choosing his target; the Weavile had already taken out most of his enemies. The rest of the enemy forces were covered... but providing assistance in taking out that Celebi wouldn't hurt. Unlike his previous tactics, his claws developed a fine coating of frost, going for an Ice Punch instead. [0 freezes.]

The combat breaking down around the clown seemed to fly by like nothing, the man barely sensing the celebi and the loyal Glitch going down behind him as he rushed to the center of the room, the knife barely tearing another slice out of his side as he reached the center, a trail of blood tracing his path as he made one last sweep around to look down on the peons who had dare challenged him, they may not have been returners, but they did well enough, he'd stop as the haze of his insanity leaked out with the blood loss. As the last strikes were blocked by the brainwashed pokemon he'd order it away again, after all he wanted to see them in the face when he could see the dispair personally.

"At last... we're here, and there's only one thing left to do!" He'd say as he finished the first spell turning to look at them all with a smile of triumph, "Know this!" He'd shout, the seal suddenly lighting up again, his face turning from Lübeck, to the Mage, to Mike, and in a small flash of hindsight, Garland. "You were too late!"

The first spell would click off, time seeming to slow down before them as the clown cast his first strike, a wave of pure white energy beginning to slowly radiate around him, in a room filling wave.

Iori was beyond caring at the moment, the Weavile having run out of opportune targets for the moment... other than the one who was supposed to not be injured. Lunging for one last Night Slash, he went for it...

"Iori, return!" In a moment the Weavile was no longer on the field. "That wasn't the plan." Mike knew that was a potential problem from the beginning, but he'd had enough experience with that to deal with it.

The clown looked like he was pulling off something huge... Would they have to brace for impact? [If Sucker Punch hits, no; if it misses, prepare for a world of pain, and possibly the next world.]

Hans recalled Scherox as he dove for cover behind Heatran, knowing that the emerald mantis would not survive the onslaught of flame that erupted from the clown. Stahlos would fare somewhat better, though the intense heat would do no good for the iron snake's complexion. It would survive though, serving as the party tank one last time.

The others would have to find their own way to survive, whether by ducking for cover behind Stahlos or through some device of their own making. But Hans had Heatran, and the volcano deity would soak up the flames, keeping him perfectly safe from harm as Heatran soaked in the fire, rejuvenating in the process.

If there was some means by which the clown survived this eruption of fire, Heatran would be perfectly poised to take him down.

The Ranger had no defense against this. Twin blasts of magic erupted from the clown's body as it exploded from the inside out, sending BM flying into the far wall. When the smoke cleared he'd reverted to his original shape, unable to maintain his Rocket Ranger transformation through the massive damage. The PT glitch simply stood steadfast in the middle of the blast, unmoving, then fell over without a sound.

Well, Psychic or no, that moth was wasted. It would be wasted permanently if not for Garland returning it mid-blast. The knight was blown back against the far wall immediately afterwards, unable to keep his footing in the magical fury. "Oh god my everything hurts."

Between the Revive raising him to half strength and the Curaga of his own, the Knight had been nearly full strength going into this. Even still 'conscious' was an overstatement. More like 'not unconscious'. He certainly wasn't getting up right now from his position slumped against the wall.

There was no way Mike could've prepared himself for what came next. The clown had engineered a massive burst of energy, just as the previous version of Garland had done; he'd added quite an explosion after that to the mix, though. There was no defense against the initial burst; only Jeff's intervention had warded off the second blast, the Magnezone absorbing every bit of the brunt for his trainer.

Paula had a significantly better defense against the final attack, but the Gardevoir was simply too tired to properly defend. The combo had sent her flying against one wall, slumping to the floor.

Cassandra had given the clown takedown her best shot... and failed horribly, the Absol sliding back until she hit a different wall. The raw power of the impact had simply been too much for her; she was down as well.

Iori had fortunately dodged the impact, the Weavile having been recalled just in time by his trainer. It wasn't exactly a good idea to let him out, given the state of the battlefield...

All in all, the team was in terrible shape. Most of Mike's backups were conscious but in no condition to fight; if they were pressed into combat now it was likely they'd lose. Not to mention there was still one potential enemy to contend with...

The waves of fire and heat would eventually blow part of the temple's very roof, the sharpnel of debris flying into the air to rain down on the surroundings as the pressure from the blasts ended, leaving the sunlight to shine down into the wreaked ruins of the ruins, a massive crater grouged out in the center of it, leaving a series of crystals apparently floating around it.

Of the clown there was no sign, but from the amount of energy that still seemed to fill the area, that could mean anything, as critical as he was, could he have somehow survived? And where were the other legendaries?

Even with Garland's assist, Mike was barely on his feet from the sheer power of the clown's seemingly-final attack. If experience had taught him anything, it's that it was never over until you saw the body. He'd have to get his team back on their feet as fast as possible... and then, this might be over. Or it might not, considering who they were up against.

The first order of business would be to recall fallen party members; if the clown WAS still alive, he'd at least have fewer targets to go after that way. It'd leave him wide open in case of the clown's return, but that was a risk he was willing to take.

...Oh, right, there were still plenty of healing items around. Mike would have to see how many of them he could get, but with the condition he was in it wouldn't be easy.

Of course items weren't the only thing lingering in this room, there was also the sole surviving Legendary which had also made a very inelegant smash against the wall, the pokemon looking stunned.

Hans would do well to follow his own advice regarding healing items. Metagross and Stolloss were down, and neither Stahlos nor Scherox were in optimal condition. They could fight, sure, but they had been battered more than Heatran had. Heals would be essential in the battle to come.

Here's hoping that those eight Mike had grabbed weren't the only useable heals left...

Letting himself recover (unable to make proper use of healing items) he sent out his Weavile, who darted around the rubble, scavenging what he could find, before a presence made itself known beside him, the small snake holding its master's bag in its mouth.

His Volcarona was restored to full health, Blue having taken too much shadow magic through her system for Bakura to want to put his Articuno through any more.

It seemed he has overreacted when his Ka had been frozen, burned, and poisoned all at once by the glitch's reality breaking attack, the currently small spirit coiling over his shoulders protectively.

That was what Mike had been afraid of; the clown was still alive. Significantly weakened, but alive nevertheless. Not that he looked any better himself, given that explosive outburst had given him quite a thrashing. Sheer determination was what was keeping him on his feet now, though it hadn't seemed to help his team any. He was down to one completely healthy Pokemon; everyone else had various degrees of injury, some more severe than others.

"...Ah crap." And here he thought he'd have a moment to get his team healed up before the fight resumed. Not to mention he could use one himself; at this point, if he went down his team might not be getting back up.

"You just don't know when to quit, do you? That's funny... Neither do I." Down to his last fresh starter, Mike called out Sunny, his Tropius. She'd have to buy time for the team until he could get the rest of them back on their feet... Starting with a Magical Leaf was the best option she had, in order to get a guaranteed strike in. Seven items was the limit of what Hans had been able to scrounge up, in addition to the revive he had pocketed some time ago, boosting his total to eight. Stahlos and Scherox each received their share, as did Metagross and Stolloss.

There was some internal debate as to whether healing Tentantel was worth it, or whether it was more worth it to save his remaining heals for the heavy hitters. Status would likely do little good in this fight, and there was no doubt that defensive rocks would only do so much.

However, as the clown descended from on high, Hans realized that he no longer had time to decide. This shit was happening now.

The series of strikes flew true towards his form, the form reaching it's full size and strength as the first few attacks hit, the punch striking true and letting off a bright flash of light as if it had struck something important... which as the scene cleared showed something that looked like another version of the clown, which would vanish into dust in front of him...

The rest of the man's body would seem to ignore the pain but it was clear that whatever it had hit it had to have been something important.

The other two strikes seemed to be mere afterthoughts, the poison seeping in but giving no reaction from the being before them.

"The devil fell to one blow." He'd say to himself, his rage clearly felt even from here.

"Just like I crushed your gods under my will," He said, grinning despite his anger, "I shall burn your world to ashes!"

"Now behold the wrath of the fallen!"
The skies above them would suddenly alight as several glowing figures flew at them, smashing in and around them with a series of bright explosions that would sap their strength tremendously.

All that hadn't taken him down? Clearly the clown had a few tricks left up his sleeve... Several of which were headed their way. The explosions they generated seemed to have an odd effect... Mike himself was hardly affected at all, but Sunny was quite a bit worse off than she had been. What kind of attack worked like that?

No matter; there were bigger things to worry about at the moment. There wasn't a lot of medicine left, so Mike would have to make his choices carefully. The first target for revival was Samus; the Blaziken was the only one of his true stars that was still healthy enough to get back on her feet with such simple measure.

In the meantime, Sunny kept on with the Magical Leaf barrage. For now, Mike figured it was better to deal smaller amounts of guaranteed damage rather than go for a big hit that might miss. How long could they keep going like that, though?...

Now there were more clowns? Possibly, or possibly just afterimages. Regardless of what they were, they were active, spitting out attacks like a Southern American hillbilly would spit out watermelon seeds.

Stahlos took the earthy strike in stride, and Hans was made very thankful that the strike had not impacted on Heatran instead. Very fortunate indeed.

Mike was trying to think of who to try to get back up next. With so little medicine available, though, he'd have to choose carefully. It also didn't help that the clown seemed to have an answer for everything. Maybe he could combine what he had to make it better... [Combining a Revive and a Full Restore, somehow; this'll take his turn.]

Sunny had taken a solid hit from that Mist Ball that had been thrown out... Oddly, it didn't hurt as much as she thought it would. No matter; the Tropius would be limited to continuing to throw Magical Leaf attacks in order to properly cover her trainer. Oh yes, there's no doubt about it. That fucking clown just loves fire. Fortunately, every other attack made by the clown and his doppelgangers missed. Unfortunately, the only attack that did hit was a flame of unprecedented heat and ferocity which tore at Mike's Tropius.

Contrary to the clown's position, this was no comedy. This was serious.

"Scheiβe!" Hans was taken by surprise as the holy blue flames ravished the plant dinosaur.

"Okay team, let's just keep trying. If we hit him enough, he's bound to die eventually."

... Right?

Again, the three dove into action, repeating their previous course of action. Scherox punched with an iron fist, Stahlos threw a heavy rock, and Heatran belched forth a cloud of fire.

Mike wasn't sure what he'd managed to make out of his fumblings with the medicine he had, but it felt like he had something, at least. Whatever it was, it was certainly quite a bit more potent than usual... This might work on even his most severely injured team members. No way to find out but to try it, right? The Colonel's series of blows would be dodged by the flying God, the man's face broke into a sneer that would turn to rage as the night slash smashed into him.
"DESTROY DESTROY EVERYTHING!"

He'd fly forwards again, lashing another razor sharp wing targeting the other God serpent the slash cutting a line across his body as he passed the Weavile.

The other's would take or avoid the damage in stride, some shrugging it off, others seeming to be hurt hurt, the flinched one would continue to glare at the houndoom while the metronome spamming one quickly switched to target the Mage instead.

The rest seemed fall back a little, the ones struck by BM and Garland suddenly performing a flip as they turned to attack different opponents, one rushing the recently deployed Weavile to cover it's master.

Mike was shocked by how easily the clown seemed to dispatch his team; reinforcements were needed immediately. "Damnit... This guy's even tougher than I thought he was." It didn't help that he seemed to have the type advantage over just about everything... His plan wasn't finished yet, but he didn't have much of a choice.

Iori had simply taken too much damage, the Weavile unable to fight effectively any more. Should he be pressed back in, he could still technically battle, but he'd be injuring himself the entire time, and at greatly reduced offensive output to boot. For now, he needed to be pulled out.

"I didn't think I'd have to do it this soon, but... Cassy, I need you to get one more bout in!" The Weavile on Mike's team was replaced by his Absol, apparently ready for combat once more. His fumblings with the medicine combo had been a complete success; as such, he quickly worked to put another one together as the Absol resumed the fight, once again going for a Razor Claw enhanced Night Slash. [0, 2, or 4 crit because high odds. Mike's spending his turn making another Revive + Full Restore = Max Revive combo.]

Do you feel that? That pause, that silence between when an attack is commenced and when it reaches its intended mark? That's what it feels like to become tired of war. The longer that silence, the more tiresome the fighter. Despite being given a brief period of respite, Heatran was beginning to feel the tiredness of war. The enemy's blast had done its damage, and the volcano deity felt the tiredness, deep within its iron bones.

Still, as weary warriors often do when there is a battle to be fought, Heatran held fast, determined to fight to the bitter end, no matter how bitter that end may be. Scherox and Stahlos were holding up fine, after the curative infusion from the good Garland, but the spirit of molten metal was starting to grow weary.

Hans was in a bind now. He had used half of the pilfered heals to bring his heavy hitters back up to speed, and now he had to decide whether to keep slugging it out with Heatran or to wait until the volcano spirit fell in order to conserve his stores. With two boosts to his fire attacks, Heatran was the strongest (and only, unfortunately) special hitter the Colonel now possessed, but was that enough to break the stalemate that now presented itself?

For the time being, Heatran would have to endure. Endure, and attack. Positioning itself, the spirit of flame belched forth another cloud of fire on the clown and his clones, as Scherox and Stahlos continued their dives into the enemy's field of fire.

The wounds would strike hard, tearing into his body, his powers regenerating at a slow rate but the damage was being done faster than it could be healed, and each time his face looked a little more sickened each time.

At last the final few strikes were too much, the man flying up into the air as one of the wings fell limp. "Curses.... Take this!"
added up hard though the Mad man floating back up again before scowling casting a sudden rapid blast of energy to home in on the Steel bug, the clown apparently charging up for something else as he sent his minions forth to attack once more.

The strikes went all over once more, the ruins of the temple collapsing even more around them as a support pillar was hit, toppling another dozen feet of ceiling above them, the clown's power waning a bit as the massive thunder and psychic strike impacted him. His servants pressed the attack, the previous flinched one throwing itself in the way of the clown while the rest went all out once more, another fighter joining the fray.

The metronome user swapping it up for a pure psychic strike on the Porygon. The last face suddenly shifting for a second before a wave of energy would fly out, the very reality around the attack warping as it flew towards the Iron Snake.

"Brace for impact!" Hans shouted, as he motioned for the iron snake to use its massive bulk to shield the party as best as it could from the coming blast. Heatran too, knowing its end was nearing, threw itself into the line as well. The volcano deity's bulk was nowhere near that of Stahlos', but an extra mass standing between the party and certain death was an outright better solution than dying then and there, imperfect a solution as it might have been.

When the dust settled, Stahlos and Heatran had fallen, and Scherox was barely holding on by a thread. In a flash, the two fallen warriors were recalled, and their orbs placed on Hans' belt. Taking the place now of the iron snake was Metagross, fully healed and ready to take the fight to the clown.

"Alright, we're down to the wire here" said the Colonel. "Scherox, I know it hurts, but I just need you to get in there one last time. Just one more hit, and you can rest, I promise."

\With nary another word needed, the duo swung into action, ready to give the clown all they had.

She'd always been taught to let Mike fight his own battles for as long as she could... but this, she knew, was too much for him. {You think this will be enough to stop us?!} Cassandra might not have been expected to, but she knew she needed to stand against the blast herself on Mike's behalf. She'd seen it coming as well, and she braced herself to absorb as much of the blast as possible.

The surprise attack caught a few of the soldiers by surprise, the guards barely being able to open fire before the pokemon and fighters were among them, unlike the main force this was clearly nothing more than a single platoon, and one that obviously had little idea what was going on below.

Having seemingly survived the final battle, Bakura found himself walking back to Celadon after the party had split up and gone their separate ways. His Weavile walked at his side, and he decided that keeping it out of most of the fight had been a good idea. His fliers had taken far too much of a beating to be expected to fly back, so he walked.

The infirmary door would open showing the sleeping patients in their bed, the vast majority of them grunt suffering from various slight injuries, but over in one corner of the room Bakura could make out a second guarded patient, who was quite certainly in one piece.

The rest of the clones were revealed as well, showing the remaining assorted legendaries mostly circled around him, though it was clear that most of them were in little better shape.

"You..." He spat, "I hate you!"

The clown's energy would turn inwards again, the entire temple suddenly shaking as the outpouring of unstable magic began to leak out from the man's crippled form, "HATE HATE HATE HATE YOU!", the ceiling beginning to cave in around them as more of the god's powers went out of control, the land itself seeming to freeze under them for a moment. The pokemon, despite their own weakened status reared up for one final strike of their own, their master clearly no longer in any state to give other orders.

Mike and his team were running low on stamina as it was, and that Meteor shower certainly didn't do them any favors. As the clown went down, it finally became apparent that he wasn't duplicating the signature techniques of the legendary Pokemon; rather, they had been disguised as him. This would make things significantly harder, assuming injury was to be avoided.

"Aim for the clown!" The idea seemed clear; get rid of him and the legendary Pokemon would be free. That would be easier said than done, given that the clown was capable of simply calling them in to defend him.

Samus, Mike's Blaziken, had hardly been able to participate in this fight at all; she'd had to sit out after taking a beating against the evil Garland. Her standard opening attack was a Sky Uppercut, and this fight would be no different.

Paula, Mike's Gardevoir, had taken the brunt of the clown's energy blast with less ill effect than her companions. The Meteor shower made up for that, leaving her barely on her feet. She had just enough focus left to aim a Psychic blast directly at the clown... [0 lowers SpDef.]

Cassandra, Mike's Absol, was still furious at her earlier lack of success. Even her Super Luck had left her, for some reason. That didn't mean she couldn't give up, though, as her usual Night Slash was employed to attempt to finish the clown. [0, 2, or 4 crit because high odds.]

The party's attacks struck home, and the clown at last seemed to waver. For what felt like an eternity, time stood still, with no movement from anything in sight. Outside, conflict could be heard in the distance, but in the ruins of the temple, life was silent.

The silence was broken by the clown, spitting forth words of hatred as he once more loosed a blast of energy from his ruined form. The clownish form of his cloned [phantasms slipped away, revealing the imprisoned deities underneath.

Hans felt a weakness in his body. Perhaps that last attack had damaged him more than he thought. Sickness. Tiredness. Weakness. Hans was tired of battle; the weariness of war had begun to set in his bones. Still, he must press on, though he wished now only for it all to end.

The deities fired their attacks, smashing into their targets with great and terrible force. Their targets, the knight, the mage, and everyone else. Falling meteors slammed into Metagross and Stolloss, though even with the strange battlefield, the attack only did so much. Still, it had done enough; Metagross had been brought to its knees, and Stolloss was only standing due to its incredibly high defenses. Clearly, a carefully metered strategy would be needed here, if both members of the Colonel's team were to remain standing. Metagross was the worse off of the two, so healing priority went to the iron quadruped. Hans now had only two of those precious heals left.

"Alright then" he said, readying himself mentally "Stolloss, get in there, and crush that fucking clown!"

The mighty steel dinosaur roared, triumphantly crying for victory, as he dropped down on all fours and charged the clown with all its might.

The dying figure would still sweep aside the dozens of attacks, the falling rubble tossing obstructions up between them as the illusionary doubles continued their strikes. The man's decaying mental state matching the disentergration of his body. "I KNOW THIS, and I WON'T FORGET THIS!"

He'd try to fly up again, the sudden weak bolt of lightning causing him to crash agains tthe roof and fall down again. "Guh... Fuck off and die!" He'd shout before raising his hands and sending off another wall of fire.

The other illusions merely kept circling and floating, by now making it easier to sense, the roaring one fell back again while the other three took it's place, one looking like it was about to go down as well. One however seemed to focus on Garland and rush outwards, while the others split off for general targets.

Well, two of them are using attacks that BM knows Giratina doesn't have. And the one causing time distortions switched out; that means Dialga isn't the one charging in and clawing at Garland's armor. Palkia is already down. Chances are good enough. Cycling out one of his knives, BM pulls out a long chained length of red crystal. Whirling it in the air, he whips it towards the suspect clone. The chain links fragment and spread out in the air, surrounding the target and channeling shining red energy between one another.

Even if this isn't Giratina, it might be useful to turn one of the Legends to his side.

With Metagross now fully healed, it was time to unsheathe the sword. Light shone from the watch on Hans' wrist, matching in time to the light that shone from Metagross. Then, just as had happened with Stolloss, Metagross began to change. Its head slid forward, and joined with the ring that encircled the quadruped's body, it rotated upwards, before locking into place at the top of the creature's body. The legs swiveled into place to match, and now hovering in the air, the construct's entire body rotated to meet the clown head-on. Another set of legs burst forth from what was now Metagross' backside, bringing the total to eight. Last, a single spike pierced the metal plating of the construct's "jaw". Mega-Metagross was now complete.

The full force of Stolloss' weight slammed into the wall behind Kefka, sending debris crashing to the ground everywhere. Rubble fell from the armored dinosaur's backside as the creature righted itself, glaring down at the clown. The man takes out a small crystalline black charm from his coat pocket and turns Bakura back over. Things are getting exceedingly creepy as the man gleefully waves the charm around in the air above Bakura.

The crystal comes to a stop and the veins inside of it glow red in the shape of a Y. It begins bleeding black goo through cracks in the surcace, the substance slowly trickling down the pointed charm, now positioned directly above the Ring.

The clone would grow limp as the chain's effect's hit and bound it against the ground, the trapped illusion collapsing to the ground a few seconds later as the conflicting orders hit it.

The other doubles recoiled from the strikes, the other Latias double taking the two hits before floating back to cover it's doubles, the other Illusion would fire back a psychic strike towards Samus.

The clown's own look of rage towards the oncoming pokemon would be silenced as the pokemon jumped above him and with a loud massive thud, the heavy pokemon would crash down atop the God Clown's body.

The side effect would set another shockwave of power throughout the temple's floor the latias would taking a look towards the crushed god, an attack already in it's hands as it observed the status of it's fallen master, the pokemon instead switched quickly, targeting the Dialga with a pulse of power, and then promptly darting out through the roof.

The second double would lose it's illusion as well, a very tired looking Mew popping out from behind it as the very last illusion dropped revealing the Dialga once more, who took the heal and instantly pounced to push the heavy steel type off the clown.

The metal 'man' reaches out again and lets the liquid drip onto the Millennium Ring to refresh its energy and replace what was damaged by the spear. A feeling of comforting warmth results, contrary to the cold, dark appearance of the relic. The entity absorbs the charm back into its body.

"I can answer one question: I'm helping you because I was ordered to. Rest now. Somebody will find you and speak with you at greater length." Another ripple runs through the entity's form, taking on the appearance of the medical grunt it had been impersonating before. He turns to exit the room if unimpeded.

At the last second he pauses and sighs, looking spitefully back at Bakura. He morphs the charm out of his hand and tosses it back. "They want you to have this. It might help when using... or dealing with shadow magic."

the Absol's stamina faded completely. She gave it everything she had, it just wasn't enough.

That left Mike just one option now. For now, he'd have to risk it... Iori, his Weavile, made a return appearance. Going up against the god of time was a tall order even for a Pokemon with a type advantage, much less when those tables were turned. That didn't mean the Weavile was out of options; he'd simply switch tactics to throw a Brick Break his legendary opponent. It was unlikely such a blow by itself would win the fight, but it could buy enough time for Mike to get reinforcements back on their feet.

The dialga's huge bulk would block the worst of the strikes, the huge pokemon continuing to plant it's bulk over it's fallen master instinctively as it took on all comers, firing another Aura Sphere towards the Metagross, the device over the other legendary cracked as well, sending a torrent of power through the other legendary. Mew began to float off.

Of the clown, there was no sound or reaction from under there, not even the fire would have any effect.

None the less the increasing attacks would cause more and more of the nearly shattered temple to fall, at this rate the entire place was soon to come down on their heads.

Mike himself was barely on his feet, unable to keep his focus on the battlefield before him. That was fine with him; he needed to use those last two revives anyway. Cassandra was too far away to get one; she'd simply have to be recalled. This left two options... though for him, it was really one. Paula would get the second to last revive, with the last such item being held for now.

Iori was facing more difficulty than initially expected; the opposing Dialga was thought than the Weavile had thought. No matter, he'd simply have to try again with his Brick Break. He wasn't quite desperate enough to break out his ultimate technique, though he might be if this fight went on much longer. Would that be necessary, or could he finish the fight before then?

The series of strikes and the burns would hit, forcing it down a little, but it still stubbornly held in there, preparing to attack again before without any warning halting and stepping back from the hole and looking down at it.

From the inside of it there'd be the clown, it's god body gone and his normal body pretty much ravaged with so many holes that it was a miracle that he was even in one piece.

"Well, that's that." There was a sudden flash of light as every downed legendary in the room would vanish, leaving nothing but the Dialga, crystals, and the Mew, who still continued to do nothing. "Now it's all where it belongs..."

The clown was clearly paralyzed but he still managed to get one last smile. "Know this, no matter what you create, it'll be destroyed, every victory a defeat, it means nothing, everythin," He'd cough, "Goes...to...nothing...."

And with that said the man would collapse and fall still before the outpouring of magic from the broken body would incinerate the form in another blinding white flash of energy which would shoot outwards straight up through the shattered roof of the building shaking the foundations itself as the light poured out, the strange crystals flying everywhere as the ritual and ground under them shattered.

The temple, still lit by the remnants of Kefka's death throes, suddenly went dark for a moment. In the split second of a blink it all went black. Then it came back.

Turning around, the beedrill sets its drill points against the stopper at the end of the track and gives a little push, then turns again to face forward. The cart slowly rolls forward. It picks up speed rapidly as the slope turns down, then the track turns and the two enter a wide open cavern. All around them stone rails of track hang upon stone platforms, floating above a vast black abyss.

All throughout the vast underground track are multicolored gems floating around in the air, trailed by colored light. Rubies, sapphires, amethysts, diamonds. They all look like someone drew them lovingly, with great care, using a crayon.

And speaking of the track, it ends abruptly directly ahead of the thief king and his passenger. Their cart hurtles rapidly towards the cliff and off into yonder void. Several more tracks continue below, and it looks like he'll have to jump to reach them.

There are also the gems. He's supposed to collect them, right? But standing and reaching out to collect them will make keeping the cart balanced and properly on course difficult.

It comes close. Bakura lunges out briefly, snatching a shimmering Ruby out of the air. The curt hurtles off the edge and he's just able to get it under reins, keeping it from keeling over. The Beedrill behind him helps give some lift to aim it for the next track below and they land with a loud clattering as the wheels lock onto the track. Success!

This section of track winds and turns, but it's slow going and there are no jumps immediately visible. It would be an ideal time to reach out and snatch one of those gems hanging over the void.
