Tyranitar is practically wearing a pupitar. Gengar gets a ton of elements back from Haunter. Metagross gets a lot of elements from Metang too.
Becoming more dragonic wouldn't really work much for GF's way of designing megas around a role (Manectric is built to spam VoltTurn, Absol is absolutely dedicated to Sucker Punch, etc)
Plus it just recently got Boomburst and Bug Buzz and it's biggest set in the past to distinguish it from Salamence and Garchomp has been U-Turn, which is again bug type.
A bug mega would only the best way to do the mega without resorting to just
