My theory is that the original RSE universe also had a meteor, and actually used the link cable to send it over to the PMD: Red and Blue Rescue Teams universe
Constants and variables, theres always a meteor, there's always a Rayquaza destroying it, how and where are just different

This had always been my headcanon for pokemon. It didn't make sense for a DNA pokemon to show up completely independently from earths life. They really fucked it up with the delta shit, but its not like I can take any of the infinity fuel BS seriously anyway.

On Birth Island did Deoxys just stand there for you to talk to or did it immediately initiate battle after you solve the puzzle thing? Doesn't matter, since even with the puzzle no way it'd take as long as the cutscenes to Deoxys in ORAS.

It initiated the battle after you finished the puzzle but I wouldn't call it immediate because the island had to shake, the triangle shatter and Deoxys had to float down.
