It's not like Game Freak hasn't made Dark-type pseudo-legendary Pokemon that were based on Kaiju before, either.
Besides, Hydreigon hasn't actually been associated with any special regenerative ability outside of learning Roost. Hell, Deino is always covered in wounds from running into things, you'd think that a strong healing factor would've fixed those injuries before they started piling up.
It looks like a Ghidorah, it flies like a Ghidorah, it even talks like a Ghidorah. This is not rocket surgery.
