What is your favorite starting town?

Didn't you like Aspertia? I still went back sometimes to look at the sunset and stars only to be disappointed at how lackluster they actually are. It was relatively detailed though. I loved that your garden changed on the season.

I liked Aspertia, but besides that, I think every other starting town is the same with 3/4 houses and maybe a pokemon lab. I think it would be cool to have your hometown be Luniose is XY2 then have a route connecting Vaniville to Kiloude (post-game access only)

What's even better is they do the same type of thing later on. Your final challenge in the main game (the Pokemon League) is preceded by this path, going north to south.

THEN, your final challenge in the second half of the game makes you go through the same room, but east to west. It's a cool parallel that nobody really talks about.

Honestly, I think that's one of my favorite parts about the Johto games. You just go all over the place. It feels a lot more winded of a journey than the other games.

Vaniville does have cozy music. But the town itself is meh.

It'd be nice if they actually gave you a reason to revisit it at the end of the game. I mean after you beat Diantha, you spawn back in your house, but then you just immediately walk out again because there's no reason to be there.

What about.
Parents send the protagonist to study abroad, they're gym leaders or maybe even the champion. They send him to the best Pokemon school in the region. Everything starts out fine, you learn basic things run a few errands around the city, battle to get good grades and then the regions evil team attacks and school is canceled.. You move in with a friend you meet at school, but he's/she's mad that his parents worked hard to get him to school only to be sent back home because of the evil team. He runs off to fight the gym leaders and you follow close behind, but he's always a step ahead, you fight a few times and team up against the evil team and defeat the antagonist. He goes back to school afterwards, but tells you to keep on with the gym challenge and become champion. Maybe you get a few vague calls from your parents asking if you're doing well, and how they say you on TV or something.

This town looks very symmetric, I hope Sinnoh will eventually have sequel rather than remakes, I don't mind remakes but this town really has some basis to become a small city. Only regret would be the loss of the main story in exchange of somehing that would be probably worse.

I personally like Twinleaf Town, Newbark Town and that forgettable BW2 hone city name.

4th gen Newbark Town. That was the nicest, comfiest thing to see for the first time. Especially if you're a nostalgia fag for gen 2. The love in HGSS was amazing

HGSS and Platinum were also the peak for the 2D tiles sets and overworld while having both arcade like feel with a refreshing revamped graphics, especially HGSS. Johto is the comfiest graphics wise, if it only had half of Sinnoh music themes.
