This is why mega alakazam is so overrated. It's a suboptimal sweeper that gets absolutely destroyed by all priority. You are faster than all normal stuff to the point of wasting speed, but slower than all scarfs (obviously)

Seriously tho, nothing besides Mystical Fire would make sense on Alakazam and it's only marginally better than HP Fire on Showdown. On cart it would of course remove the need for breeding for the correct HP so it would be a great improvement.

There's nothing weird about Heat Wave's distribution. The move's name in Japanese is Hot Wind, and it's specifically made as a coverage move for Flying-types. If you look at all the non Fire-type Pokemon that learn it, you'll quickly see that all of them are either Flying-type or are capable of flying and have wings (e.g. Flygon). The only exception is Solrock, which learns multiple Fire-type moves since it's based on the Sun.
