Love things like Sunnyshore Night, but this has to take the cake. Such a great epic track building the mood as you climb in the snow, which was probably the most atmospheric recurring feature of Sinnoh. I hope we don't get a remake until the DS games are no longer compatible, but when we inevitably do even if it's another 8 years from now I have hope the lore will be even deeper than the snow outside Snowpoint.

Yes. I lost to her in a nuzlocke, then decided to try to win with an all star team without any additional grinding. Managed to beat her in two tries, had to use tons of items and some accuracy hax. Fighting her underleved in BW is pretty tough too with Garchomp being instakill.

I had the realization yesterday that I've been using 4chan for nearly 9 years. 9 years ago, I was underage ban at 17. Now there's kids who were 11 when I started browsing that can post here.

It's weird as hell. Nothing will top the awkwardness of next year when kids who were born after I started playing pokemon are able to post.

Yeah, I had the same feels as well.

Something about this game really felt like Pokemon was entering a new phase, era, or chapter. Maybe it's something in the music, the designs, or the general atmosphere that felt like this was the a bit more mature Pokemon. I don't know, I may just be blinded by nostalgia.

Like Gamefreak knew that the little kids who played the originals aren't fucking kids anymore and they designed the game with that in mind.

It took me several months to force myself through the main game. My hype meter went down the drain the moment I was allowed to run and enter my first battle. Shit was so fucking slow. And the graphics looked straight out of the GBA. Largely unmemorable/bad o.s.t. too.

Looking back there were very few lines I actually really liked and with the Turtwig, Starly, Shinx Cranidos, Shieldon, Drifloon, Buizel and Croagunk lines, that's nearly all of them.

I mean, I love the fuck out of Munchlax, and with Eviolite it's a beast, but did we really need Budew, Happiny, Chingling, and Mantyke. I honestly don't see the point in them, and they're just about useless, even in LC.

I was in my first year of college when DP came out. I remember being rather disinterested with the Hoenn games while I was in High School and worried I started to lose interest in Pokemon as a whole. I picked up Diamond anyway on release and was surprised by how many people on my college campus were playing it. Made a lot of my current friends there because of it and Sinnoh is when I started getting into the more technical and competitive side of the games. Really glad DP happened, even if they aren't my favorite, it was still a pretty memorable time for me. Weird how I can look back on that with nostalgia still and it doesn't even feel like it was that long ago. Nothing will ever beat playing Red or Silver for the first time though. That's an experience tied to my childhood that i'll probably never get to truly enjoy again.

i was in 7th grade, and everyone was either starting to grow out of pokemon or long past it, even i myself was questioning my love for it, i bought the lucario movie sort of as a final hurrah, i enjoyed it, and then everything pokemon related just faded away. Until 2013, which is when i saw some nice pkmn wallpapers on /wg/ then decided to come here to /vp/ and saw even more nice pictures, and discussions about things that i never even knew about, and designs of pokemon i wasnt entirely aware of, and i got a 3ds for my birthday so i got x version and enjoyed it thurally, so then i got a flash cart and that was the first time i played platinum version.

I wiped her team with two underleveled pokemon last time I tried it. Torterra and Golduck. The rest of the team was fodder to keep reviving and healing Torterra for those Woodhammer kills.

What I liked about Diamond and Pearl was the introduction of online play and the wireless abilities of the DS which meant playing with friends was a lot easier. It was also the first time since RBY that I seriously made an attempt at completing the Pokedex.

I still have my childhood friend's FR Charizard and Zapdos that I got from him from when we were 11. He permanently stopped playing pokemon at that point onward, but gave me his FireRed. I traded those two, his favorite pokes, to my LG before I started a new save on it. I'm almost 21 now and we still chill. I actually have the sunnyshore theme on my iPod and whenever I'm at the beach (I live on an island) I just play that. It's just so comforting and happy. I mean I'm a pretty overall depressed person, but when I go spend a day at the beach and just listen to that theme over and over it really brings me true happiness. The gen 4 games were my saviors
