There were way more choices for amazing megas, so why did they choose this thing? Why not give Vespiqueen a mega instead? Why Nintendo, why?

What does Charizard getting 2 megas have anything to do with Blaziken getting 2 megas? Blaziken isn't that popular to deserve 2 unlike Charizard who is the most popular fully evolved non-legendary in the franchise.

Except Zygarde due to it's 2 different unreleased signature moves. Its nice that Charizard and Mewtwo have 2 megas though. They're designs appear flexible enough to have 2 different transformations. And I like the idea of having version exclusive mega evolutions of the same species. And choosen species were the most popular non-legendary and legendary in terms of popularity. Which seems logical from a business design perspective.

Mewtwo, maybe. Charizard no. That's favoritism of the worst kind. Why don't Venusaur and Blastoise have two megas? It's Game Freak slapping every kid that didn't choose Charizard in the face and telling them their pokemon is straight up inferior.
