I like you deliberately avoid mentioning that it would lose the tons of resistances granted by its steel typing (steel/fairy is numerically speaking the best defensive type in the game) while gaining unwanted weaknesses to steel, poison and fairy. Part of the reason M-Mawile is so good is its steel typing.

Its defensive type is overrated.
In practice it still lacks important resistances (water, electric, fighting, ghost and fairy) and has nasty weaknesses to fire and ground so it's not as good as it appears on paper.

And no. When steel was added to Magnemite, they didn't retcon its electric typing. When they added Fairy typing to Gardevoir, they didn't retcon the psychic.

Adding a new type when something comes out is fine. Making a single type another type is okay. Making a single type a dual type that doesn't even have its original typing is one of the most retarded ideas.

Although seeing where GF is going, I wouldn't be surprised if they do that shit soon.

Wouldn't surprise me if GooooooHOLYFUCKTHISISNTSPAMdra becomes Fairy/Poison next gen
