I really want Gen VII to be one where they go back and look at all the Pokemon to decide which need a boost in movesets, better abilities, or an evolution.
Megas are a definite step up, but I think they're going in the wrong direction. Non-three stage and non-legendary Pokemon shouldn't get megas, they should get a regular evolution.
