Arcades are dead and/or dying in the west, cost ridiculous sums of money to play on, and because they're dead, pretty much only have ports of Dreamcast shooters, Dreamcast racing games, Dance Dance Revolution and fucking whack-a-mole.

Anyway, I'd give it about a year at the most. The only reason Tekken 6 took two years was because of the issues encountered with porting the engine; since this is a mainstream Nintendo IP that's probably not liable to happen.

The Japanese text may say Gengar, but the official trademark which is used in merchandise is Gangar.

It's like how the Japanese text for Zorua says Zoroa but the official trademark says Zorua. It may not make sense with the Japanese text, but that's how it is.

Oh, well that's not too bad then. Ghost was a physical type pre-split so I was hoping it wasn't all projectile spam and this seems like a healthy mix.

I still hope we get more physical Pokémon, I want more fighting types but I'm fine with anything that fights physically like if it were a Flying-type or a Ground-type.

I can't blame him for Zoroark. I'm glad they didn't overkill Zoroark and ruin it like they ruined Lucario, but they dropped it like a hot potato when it didn't sell like crack the way Lucario did, so seeing it get representation here would be nice. Maybe Weavile could be the Ice-type rep, but Zoroark has what could be a cool gimmick with its illusions.

I know Gardevoir is already representing the Ralts line, but Gallade could fit as well, fighting more like a character from Soul Calibur.

Exceptions are pokemon that can stand on two legs, have arms and have wings like Charizard, Dragonite, Druddigon, Heracross, Kricketune etc.

Well, regardless of what you want, it's not Tekken with a pokemon skin. I like Tekken too, but let Pokken be it's own thing. They're trying to make it a lot more accesible than traditional fightans, and they're trying to capture the feel of pokemon battling, with lots of special moves from the games and shit. Pokemon like Suicune make perfect sense in this game.

I'm a bit disappointed that this is the only info we got after a multi-month drought, but Gengar is a fucking awesome Pokemong and he looks well-implemented in this game. The shadow effects, mix of projectiles and physical attacks (tongue moves are great), and the overall feel of the character are solid.

Also, are the Magnemite cameras an intentional nod to the trolls on the Twitter poll?

The Gastly family is one of my favorite Pokemon families and I only grow to like them more with time. Back in the earliest Gen 1 days I was complete shit at Pokemon, so I never caught or raised one even though I had access to plenty of friends and a brother to trade with. Their role in the plot, appearances in the anime, and regularity as "boss" Pokemon was always appreciated though. Ghost is a great type, and the Gengar line embodies it really well. I finally used them when I started to get competitive and raise varied teams in Gen IV (instead of trying to be an exclusive Flying type master) and never looked back.
