Originally, I typed it up to troll you guys, hoping that I’d net a few responses. Not the greatest ruse in the world, but it netted 9+ responses even though it’s basically in the same vein as “Pearl when I was 6”. The weird part was when it became something more than that – I guess somebody on the archives was really mad and wanted to sling dirt on me or whatever – as if being a tripfag wasn’t bad enough? I suppose you wanted a reason to get rid of me. Fair is fair.
I know you’re typing right now “hurr durr damage control etc”, but there’s no need. I’m not trying to convince you that that post was a ruse because there’s no way you’ll accept it (god forbid you got baited, right?). Actually, funny thing, there were people in that very thread that were aware that it was a funpost – almost nobody considers it now, I guess /vp/ just got easier to troll over time. More naïve users, less context, whatever. Anyways, eventually after being spammed a couple hundred times it reached maymay status – I don’t see the Pearl thing brought up a ton so I guess this one’s more popular but it forged its own identity. It’s pretty much a cultural thing now, a “meme” you could say. I’m surprised by how big it’s grown, but I guess it’s been spammed enough so that it’s the equivalent of a “forced meme”, one that people will latch right on to, because it’s easy to fall under peer pressure. I remember once somebody agreed with me in a thread and they stated they didn’t want to agree with me and eventually deleted their post, I think out of fear of being judged. That’s absolutely horrible.

I’m leaving this board now because it’s filled to the brim with “ironic” and legit shitposting and I’ve been planning on it for a while now.
