ITT we make minor changes to all the existent Mainline games to make them more challenging. Any changes are accepted as long as they don't mess with the main game mechanics.

Every Evil Team Grunt now has 3 Pokémon each, fully evolved after a certain point in the game. No fucking reason to have them assault you with Zubat or Poochyena after the 4th gym.

At least Team Flare was starting to do this with their grunts having fully evolved Pokemon by the end at least.

But yeah, cut down on the amount of experience earned to lengthen the game. Make quick EXP & EV gain post-game along with breeding, which just always has the best IVs passed down from both parents. Make the teams more challenging and unpredictable, such as giving trainers different sets depending on the run-through. Also far less hand-holding, make catching Pokemon something that feels earned again. Make NPC Pokemon far stronger than yours as well.

All major characters use competent movesets and distinct strategies which get stronger as the game goes on.

Example: Archie and Maxie now have Rain and Sun teams with Droughttales/Chlorophyll Shiftry and Drizzletoed/Swift Swim Ludicolo. Their Pokemon also use fully optimized movesets; no bullshit like slapping on the four most recent level up moves. Mega Camerupt didn't even have STAB for fuck's sake.

No trainer has less than 3 pokemon except for trainers before the first badge.
Expand the variety of teams in trainer battles: no facing six trainers in a row who ALL have a Pidgey and Rattata. It's excusable in early game but it gets boring quick.

hey, some of the gym leaders got that this time in ORAS.

All of flannery's pokemon had sunnyday.

Winona's Earthquake, Dragon Breath, Cotton Guard, Roost Altaria was horrifying because it was decently powerful and just wouldn't die (x6 def plus roost? *shudder* it was horrible)

(though why does Liza's Solrock have sunny day? it had flamethrower and solar beam in the original. now it has rockslide.)

Passing down the best IVs from both parents fucks over trick room teams pretty hard - 0 IV mons are hard to get already and it'd be harder to use creative sets like Ray Rizzo's 2012 Metagross with 14 speed IVs

Champions, Rivals and last two gyms have full competitive mons (Ability, EVs, Items)
All gym leaders and Ace Trainers have competitive EVs
All trainer's levels are raised by 5

These options are all in challenge mode able to be selected before you start the game. Normal mode is still the pussy ass shit we have now
