If you are worrying about a video game, you probably need to get your life together.

How hard is it to periodically check and gauge if you need to get a higher score? For that matter, you only need to check on the last day to confirm you are getting the stone. You had a 3k buffer, you aren't going to lose.

I'd feel a lot better knowing day 1 if I get the stone. Then if I don't beat it day 1 I can constantly replay the level until I do. I don't want to just check in last day then have like 5 minutes to maybe get a high enough score. IT's impossible to tell what the lowest score possible is.

No i'm fine with people earning the pokemon... when they beat a COMPUTER. They shouldn't have to compete against other humans in a single player game. Make it just like any other expert stage. You have a time limit to beat the stage. Beat it and get the stone, don't beat it don't get the stone. Beat it on the first day then have it the first day. Beat it on the last day and you get it that day.

The problem isn't that competition, it's the ranking. It's so easily to slip out of the top 10k, everybody is grasping at it so you can think you made it then drop 2-3k ranks in a few hours especially near the end.

I got a score with Lucarionite then stupidly though I'd be ok then never looked back. Didn't make that mistake with Blastoise but each time I'd check my rank it would drop me close to escaping the the top 10k ranks which is frustrating.

There's no reward for getting all the mega stones. If you miss out, you can still beat the game. Many other games have competitions where the winner gets something special, be glad they give it to tens of thousands of players and you don't have to actually be any good. If you don't enjoy the competitions, then don't play them. Or really just do it once, you'll probably end up getting the stone. Don't check back in the last 5 minutes, on the last day if you're in the top 50% of the threshold you'll get the stone for sure.
What's your favorite mega? I hope it's in a competition.

Just spent time preparing, by now its relatively easy to get all the EX pokemon so if it is going now the people who don't have Yvetal / M Gengar by now are going to miss out. Only issue is I could be spending hearts on other things.

Why is that funny? I've been playing pokemon since red and blue. I saved before every elite 4 member. It pissed me off when I forget that the game walks you right up to the champion and begins the battle right away. You need to save the room before.

I rarely have to turn the game off and on though. I like bringing over leveled pokemon. Makes it much easier. I have a level goal for every gym in the games usually.

1st gym level 10 all pokemon
2nd gym level 20 all pokemon
3rd level 30
4th (starts to get harder to grind because wild pokemon are so weak) level 35
5th 40
6th 45
7th 50
8th 55
elite 4 60+ whatever they end up at

People like you take the fun out of games. I'll explain further since you're probably underage, so I don't blame you.

First off, you don't get game overs when you lose a battle in pokemon.

Second, the fact that you have to save before each battle shows that you do not have the 1. skill to brute-force or 2. intelligence to strategize. You might as well just follow walkthroughs step by step since you can't think for yourself.

I could go on, but it's obvious that if you can't figure it out by now, you'll never get it.

I can beat the game no problem. Like I said here >>23337425 I like being over powered. And I get a full team of 6 as soon as I can. Type advantage against anything. I don't do any form of lock. I play normally. Competitively is a different story. I don't play online, only against friends. But yes XP share is on from the moment I get it. I was so happy when it effected every pokemon you have instead of only one pokemon holding the item. And no I don't use legendaries.

I know I don't get game overs. I would still rather start from where I left off rather than have to start all over again. That's why I only play old games on the VC. They have save states. Fuck losing ALL your progress after dying. I save after I beat a level.

I rely on brute force. I like to be over powered. 10 or more levels above the opponents strongest pokemon. There was no way to strategize during the old games before the internet where you could look up the member's pokemon. You just guessed based on the type they use. Now I strategize. Look at what their first pokemon will be and choose my best suited pokemon to go against it. And yes I do use walkthroughs when I can't find an item or want to get through an annoying ass cave as quickly as possible without wasting repels. Watch someone else do it, see which battles are avoidable, the battles that aren't I see what their first pokemon is and plan my first pokemon accordingly.

I never used a gameshark to get rare candies. But if I find a rarecandy normally in game I use it. Using rare candies doesn't give your pokemon the EVs so they wind up being weaker than normal.

You can directly edit a pokemon's level.

Rare Candy does not provide EVs but you can still EV train at level 100 in any game from gen 5 and on. In games before that, you just need to make sure they're fully EV trained by level 99 which isn't a problem at all.

Swap out Gengar with Haunter. Optional, but grind mons on Amp stage for some levels. Disruption Delay and +5 Moves make it less frustrating. Mega-Start along with the previous two together make it nearly guaranteed.

Just posted my first score, it's shit - 7100 and change, dropped my combo about 25 seconds in and that sunk me.

Was running M-sableye, zoroark, gengar and absol, will switch to M-gengar and misdreavus when I pick up the gengarnite. The gulpin spawns are a bit annoying too - anyone tried bringing one with to see if it helps?

For like the billionth time... before calculating item usage & the MVP bonus, earned EXP & the number of turns available is a 1:1 ratio. Damage is a non-factor here.

If you happen to suck and can't beat the stage you're grinding on, you earn a percentage based on damage. But who the fuck would grind on a stage they can't beat? MVP bonuses add up.

Mega Pokemon generally suck in competitions because of how long their effect animation is. I remember in the last one, people were taking the mega stone off Ampharos so that his lightning bolts didn't get in the way, while people in the Lucario competetion were dropping Slowbro for 4 Faries to abuse Togekiss.

I only got into Shuffle in the past week or two.
I've got Mega Sableye, Absol, Purrloin and Litwick in my team for the Bannette Live Event.
Should I force my way to some other legendaries or is grinding the Ghastly or some other Ghost stage with 1.5 EXP on to level them up a good method of getting my damage up during that comp so I can not be shit in the 17,000 area?

Grinding doesn't help a whole lot. Here's your best bet:
Get Zorua. He's available pretty early in the game, but with a stupidly low capture rate. Bring him and 3 of your best dark types to the stage. Use the home button trick and make 100% sure that you trigger Zorua's Sinister Power within the first five seconds (it only triggers if Zorua is the one you drag into the match and your combo is at zero). Once Sinister Power is active, do everything in your power to keep your combo going for the full 60 seconds. You should break 20k.

For unlocking the Mewtwo stage, do I need to S rank the first 150 stages, or a total of 150 stages?
Asking because S-ranking some of the 151-180 stages is easier than the few ones I've got left from the first 150.
