Depends OP,there are some great soundtracks in Gen 5 games that I love to hear,but at the same time I seem to enjoy most, the tunes I can whistle to later, which older games had more of.Older music is easier to remember but new games have better music.

Also isn't the DS era in 32-bit? While gba should be mostly in 16-bit, not sure about pokémon though.

8bit and 32bit was amazing and kids will never be able to hear it ever again, nor will they play anything post 360. sliver had a amazing soundtrack and fit the mood and tone.
