I mean it's not bad on its own, but I feel it doesn't match the original.
In the original you have a lone trumpet as the main instrument at the start, and even though there's other stuff going on in the song, that trumpet is loud and clear on top of everything else whenever that part of the song is playing. As a kid I thought it was the best song in the game, the way it's one instrument singled out made it feel like a personal battle just between you and Archie.
You have a whole brass section going down in the remake, and in parts of the song it feels like what's going on behind the melody overshadows it. Again, on its own it's good, but it goes for a different tone than the original and I like the tone of the original better.
