Hi /vp/, first time here but I think this is the right place since /vg/ doesn't have a Pokemon general.
How do I in2 Pokemon meta? I'm super casul, never really played pvp, but I'm interested in learning how to git gud.
I know a bit about EVs & STAB & things, but very little about some other topics. I always thought stat boosting moves like swords dance sucked but apparently they don't. I can also sort of piece together what all the terminoligy is, but it would be nice to properly find out what things like sweeper and coverage mean.
Gen 3 is probably my favourite, which is convenient since ORAS came out somewhat recently. I don't have a 3DS though, and I've been holding off on buying one because I have a feeling Nintendo is going to release a new console and stop putting out games for 3DS. Is my paranoia warranted or should I just buy a 3DS? I've been wanting to play several other 3DS exclusive weeb games too.
Skarmory is my favourite pokemon & I like Flygon too. Speed is best stat - would I be able to make any semi-competitive teams based on these preferences?
Are there any sites or databases with info on stuff like move sets, team compositions, pokemon terminoligy & meta in general? I've been watching Verlisify on youtube, but would love to start reading up and seeing others' opinions.
