>>23344455that question was specifically about ORAS, not every pokemon game in general.
ORAS was expectedly pure cashcow. Put in what is necessary, top it off with a bunch of fanservice, the end. I'm still flabbergasted that so many people expected them to pour their hearts into the game with twice the work any single pokemon game has had put into them, investing development into a freaking battle frontier and whatnot in addition to remaking the whole game from 0. That would only have been realistic if XY2 came first and featured these things so they could be copy-pasted into ORAS.
With XY2, there is some hope, as they start off with a realized XY, which gives them much more room for making the game worthy, as they get to do all the side-things they didn't get to do the first time around when they had to make the core part of the game itself. And if you pay attention while playing XY, they seem to have already scattered plenty of ideas throughout it without exploring them (the obvious ones being Rhyhorn racing, plenty of locked powerplants, train stations with no purpose, Zygarde itself of course, implications of a southern Kalos...), not to mention Battle Resort in ORAS essentially having an advert for a Battle frontier coming soon.
The only reason why they could do a lame job on the finer apsects is if they completely turn the region on its head and make BW2 look like a test-run of the sequel concept (which would require most of the focus on the core of the game), but that would be just as interesting, so either way I'm interested in where they're taking us.
