Not to mention if you take into account the league wait times from OS through DP, you can see it adds up to about 6-7 months. Put together the travel time through regions that could be 4-5 months. He gets called 10 in BW, so that says he went through the regions in a bit less than a year, and Unova had a 3 month wait time for the league. Train in Saffron was running from there to Johto at the near end of BW when in Johto it still needed a year to be completed. Throw in that Ash is left at a vague age again and you can assume he's 11 unless they pull another BW, which will go as well as the first time.
