>>23344795Megas could have been done much better but they're not terrible and if nothing else offer the best chance at needed options for some Pokémon.
Gen VI's EXP Share is a major contributor to rampant casualizaiton of the main game, but that's mostly a fault of GameFreak being unable to balance the game around it and it's very useful for things like EV training, it just needs an option or alternative to function like the old EXP Share.
The biggest problem with Gen VI thus far, present in XY but most evident in ORAS, is that GameFreak is attempting to listen and pander to the fanbase far too much.
They've taken the direction that the main game should be extremely accessible and casual, and as a result have given the player every possible advantage over the AI from the EXP system to minimal AI teams and completely player-exclusive bonuses like Pokémon Amie (and for 95% of the game, Mega Evolution).
At the same time, post-game content has been severely gimped in favor of focus on "competitive" Pokémon. ORAS is the worst, with it's post-game boiled down to "ridiculous muh lore side-story", "catch all these Legendaries", and the Battle Maison ripped straight from XY. The latter really rubs me the wrong way, with Wally blatantly throwing away half his team in favor of giving you Smogon: The Experience, and the guy who blatantly tells you "use strong Pokémon, not ones you like." It's not wrong, but it's definitely not something I should be hearing from the games themselves.
