What would you like to see Game Freak do with Fairies in the next generation? What duel-type combinations? A new special or physical move, or a Fairy-type attack with a higher base power stat than Moonblast?

Hopefully Game Freak will keep its based new type strong.

The type itself needs to be nerfed, badly. I like the idea of fairies but now I hate clefable and azumarill, and I used to like them.

Make psychic super effective against them, bug type attacks neutral against them and make fairy moves NVE against bug.

Ghost is the only edgy type; ghost, dark, poison, steel, and dragon, not to have a weakness to a pure type; fae, psychic, and fighting.

Realistically though, nerfed. When it's OP enough to be a fairly big buff to any pokemon that's received it, it's a problem.

As for designs, I have no idea. Fairy mythology is all over the damn map, and you could probably justify about 3/4s of the entire pokemon lineup being fairy type if you do enough mental gymnastics.

Drop the Bug resistance. The type was already resisted by twice as many things as it's SE against, and has no defensive prowess to compensate for shitty offense. If the goal was to nerf U-turn, nerf the damn move itself instead of shitting on an entire type that was already bad.

Ice now resists Fairy. COLD iron.

Fairy is one of the reasons why Im looking forward to generation 7. Its been more than a fucking decade since Gold/Sliver that a new type has been introduced to the series. Over the generations we get to see different designs of what Dark and Steel offered and now looking at a majority of them, its now obvious to realize what the types are supposed to represent now. Fairies right now we have no idea what it truly represents. It's either a blend of pink cuteness or mythical ethereal creatures of folklore. I believe more designs from generations to come will help define what makes an obvious basis for a fairy type. Pic related is the direction I hope they would take for future fairy designs.

Dark and steel types were introduced to keep psychics at bay, dark type turned out to be mostly irrelevant while steels enjoyed 10+ resistances and guaranteed bulk/offense but shit speed, then gamefreak went full retard with dragons by giving them absurd stats, buffing outrage and giving all of them wide movepools so years later they introduced fairies to keep them in check while nerfing steels, buffing dark types and making fairies be literally as spammable as gen 4 dragons, what do you guys think it's the next step? I'm expecting something that can't be touched by fairies, resists dragon and steel and is weak to bug, poison and grass.

Fairy is without a doubt the strongest type in the entire game. Only thing it lacks is mons with good BSTS to take advantage of it.

Fairy is quite literally the opposite of Dragon. Where Dragon is a fairly average type with a pool of stupid BSTS, while Fairy is a Ridiculous typing with average BSTS.

I agree with you on some points though, removing the bus resistance, and adding a weakness to another underused offensive type (grass) would be fine with me. Nothing else really fits the bill, ice is already good on offense, so is rock, electric has fluff issues, etc, but grass could have a "natural chain of command" thing.

It was probably due to the sheer lack of current Fairy moves.
For fire, you've got Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Lava Plume, Incincerate, etc. Same goes for water, electric and other types. Fairy lacks any sort of super mega powerful alternative for it's type, so it's main move being 95 in power seems justified.
Once a more powerful fairy move coughlightofruincough is distributed, we may see Moonblast nerfed to 90.

Moon Blast is Fairy's most powerful move with the only other valid options being Play Rough (which few Pokémon can take advantage of) and Dazzling Gleam
Moon Blast's secondary effect is less powerful than the secondary effects of Tbolt/Flamethrower/Ice Beam and is single-target unlike Surf

If you want to talk about inconsistency tell me why Earthquake wasn't nerfed and how Boomburst is in any way balanced

Which means nothing for a physical attacker, which is mostly what you'll be up against using a Fairy, both in terms of switching into the primarily physical Fighting, Dark and Dragon types, and having the primarily physical Poison and Steel types switched in on you. On top of that, most Fairies have very high Special Defense already, so opponents will be looking for physical coverage regardless of type advantages. And of course, most Pokémon can't get rid of being Burned/Paralyzed/Frozen just by switching out.

Dual type Fairies I would like:
Fairy/Fire (maybe with Drought)
Fairy/Bug
Fairy/Ice
Fairy Ground

Link them up with offensive types to balance out Fairy's defensive nature. Fairy/Ice would be the ultimate Dragon slayer.

Fairy moves I would like:

Sunblast (As opposed to Moonblast)
110 Base Power, 70 Accuracy Special, 10% chance to burn. Accuracy raises to 100 in Strong Sunlight.
(Drought teams are pretty bad right now, something like this could help give them an edge. Fairy would be a cool partner for Fire and Grass on Drought teams.)

Fairy Might
Status move, raises Attack 1 stage and Special Defense 1 stage. Give this one to most if not all physical fairies.

Pixie Dust
40 Base Power, Special, does not harm allies if used on an ally (It's nice like that). Replaces the target's ability with Levitate. It's mean like that.

Magical Kick
85 Base Power, Physical, 100 Accuracy. No effect. I just want a weaker but more accurate alternative to Play Rough, much like what Iron Head was to Iron Tail, or Surf is to Hydro Pump.
