Not necessary:
Pokemon has done a good job in retconning some moves and abilities that had a significant impact on tjhe meta and some Pokemon.
EG: Defog, Lighting Rod, Storm Drain, Knock Off, Sturdy, Extreme Speed, Oblivious and similar. Even Natural Gift and temporary Nature Power.

Needed some Speed, even with priority Will o Wisp and Cotton Guard it cannot tank lot of hits, and Pain Split is way too predictable or unreliable move on this Pokemon, would love to use like 6 moves at once but can't.

Miracle shell wouldn't be so broken really.

Have it only reset the stats at the VERY END of a turn or at the beginning of a previous turn.

So when it shell smashes it leaves itself open.
