Why am I so nervous about fighting online?

I play on showdown all the time, but something about battle spot is just really intimidating. This 3v3 crap is stupid.

Queue anxiety.
Waiting for my opponent matchup in Battle Spot gets me all nervous and fiddly.
I don't even dare to Showdown since it has voice chat.
I tried to get into DOTA years ago and I just quit since I got too nervous before every game.
Strangely this isn't a problem for me with Smash online.

There's just no intensity on showdown. The generous timer and information spoonfeeding makes you have to think way less, it lacks immersion without proper animations and music, you can just casually chat with your opponent while in-game feels like you're locked alone in a room, and to top it off the battle spot ladder is just more competitive since it's Japan's main metagame and having an unranked option weeds most casual players

It's actually the exact opposite to me. I play on Battle Spot all the time just fine, but there's something that makes me nervous on Showdown, although I prefer Showdown because they don't allow broken shit in the standard format.
