I don't understand because only one can win.
There at least two possible routes
>the games remain as they're now, maybe just tone down the cheesiness a little bit from the insufferable XY level, BW were good, but they simply act a fucking difficulty selector for the AI. But differently from BW2 they're in all games, they're available from the beginning and control the AI. Easy should be easy and hard should be fucking hard.
>They take the Fire Emblem: IF route and release 2 game, one for kids/newcomers one for adults/core fan base. It's very easy to do since Pokémon's game mostly came out in pair.
It's really, really, really easy, and everyone of us could have thought that. Why GF can't?
I get that the original target for the games are kids, but the GF needs to keep up with the reality. A large chunk of the fanbase it's not a kid anymore: the series is 20 years old and has one of the biggest online fanbase. That fanbase is not made of kids. Kids don't play with handheld console anymore in the west and in Japan Youkai Watch is way more popular with kids.
The real problem, as usual, is that GF refuses to adapt and keeps pretending that is still 1996. Never seen a company adapting this slow to changes in their scope. Most people consider Nintendo slow but man, they're Usain Bolt compared to Game fucking Freak.
