By making VGC their official Tournament tier; they effectively take a shit on anyone who thought of doubles as annoying.
As for Gamefreak trying to *fix* anything, nothing that had been introduced before gen 5 or based of off RNG. has ever had to be banned without YEARS worth of playtesting. (Garchomp being banned was due to the Sand Veil and even that was debatable.)
And now that Gen 6 has rocked up we're having to ban horrendously broken shit left right and center.
Gamefreak is not trying to fix anything; they are only adding bullshit because they think it would be a cool concept (M-Kanga, Primal Trio, Protean on the mon that made it to SSB4) or for pure fanservice (M-Blaziken, M-Salamence).
