So I recently completed Y for the first time. Why is it the subject of so many memes on here?

The only shitty things I can think of were some rubbish designs (too many anime faces). team flare (probably the worst criminal group yet) and diantha, a literal who. But the game was really good, why is it so hated?

Played all the games since I got red on launch, this was right up there with my favourites.
