Why does Kalos have to be such a beautiful region yet be the land to the worst Pokemon games since Diamond and Pearl?

This. The feel of the region was fine, but it has the same problem I have with Sinnoh - it has don't many missed opportunities. Let's hope the next games fix this, otherwise they will go down in history as worse games than D/P

The problem with kalos is that they removed the seasons in gen 6, and then tried to replicate them anyway in the environments of towns. It just resulted in a series of weird seasonal jumps on the routes of East kalos

Lysandres motives and plans could have been a lot better if they didn't jump the gun and make him suddenly want to genocide everyone and announcing it to everyone. His intentions touched up on some real world shit with the whole "selfishness of others" and dealing with them, but him and his members were basically just hypocrites and took the comical villain way out with the whole death ray thing.

the story was still a lot better than ruby/sapphire when Archie and Maxie didn't even know what would the consequences of their actions be...
Team flare was a nice mix of comedy and actually meaningful story in my opinion, not as good as Team Plasma, but better than galaxy, aqua/magma, and lolRocket
