Ive been there and im not even good at the real tiers, (only around 1600-1700 in ou, uu and nu)
Randoms ladder is really bad because players a rarely good and its rrally jusy knowledge of the sets and luck of the draw that gets u high

its your ability to being able to make strategies with what youre dealt with. Being top ranked in randoms says you have a high understanding of how to use every pokemon, not just the top ones from any tier.
