>>23377465I love gen 1 despite it being objectively the worst gen.
I also greatly enjoyed every single generation and think there's plenty postgame content, but the people on /vp/ have mostly experienced that in previous generations (catching them all etc.) that it doesn't feel as content anymore. This leads to unrealistic expectations from the board that the postgame will somehow get meaningless features added for nostalgiaboners (Battle frontier was nice, and nothing more than nice. Battle maison delivers more content if you actually fully complete them)
>>23377678HG/SS is the only pokémon game ever where I simply lost all interest before making it to the end (I consider the battle with Red to be the 'end' of gen2 and these remakes). This happened twice. The reason it's so popular around these parts is probably that most users were of the perfect age to enjoy pokémon around this time; young enough to have nearly limitless time and old enough to understand/appreciate the game. It's funny, because for a long time I thought gen II was the best entry in the series. Gen VI is clearly best gen, however. Just like how all generations were the best when they first came out.
