>>23378056>was there really a HUGE difference in how fun/enjoyable each one was?Not really.
I mean, sure Emerald had the BF but the only difficulty came from the bad mechanics and the fact that you couldn't breed mon properly along with TMs being one use so you're at a severe disadvantage as you're pitted against the RNG everyone hates. It's not fun or interesting.
That being said if GF had enough time to put it in I reckon people still would have complained.
On top of that ORAS has leagues of content above Emerald that only had the Contests, Secret bases, Kyogre and Groudon, game corner
which most people didn't play because they figured out that buying coins was a lot faster than playing the games. the battle frontier.
ORAS on the other hand had Contests with extras beyond just getting the ribbons and more challenge without tedium, Super Secret bases which now are online, incorporate elements of join avenue in the trainers you scout from other bases and increase the customization options especially by setting what kind of battles your base has, a plethora of legendaries to find across the region,
that if it weren't for the internet could have sparked that feeling of finding the Regis we all had The Maison despite not having the variety of the Battle Frontier arguably has more replayability and content than it and the new mirage islands which has to be said they weren't implemented in the best of ways. Then there's the whole array of things from across the generations like the battle test, Amie and Super Training as well as some useful additions like the Dex Nav and flying to routes instead of just towns. Oh and lets not forget the vastly improved story which provided a backstory to some characters and gave them personality.
From an objective standpoint it far surpasses Emerald on most fronts but people when it comes to this franchise they don't react well to change even if it's for the better.
