Two Games left in Gen VI, as proven by Data Miners.

Thousand Arrows and Thousand Waves, two unused Ground Type Moves, the graphic of which both show green hexagons.

AZ's Floette is somehow obtainable, with it's own stat structure and a signature move called Light of Ruin, which cannot be obtained on any normal Floette.

Hoopa Unbound was revealed three months prior to the release of the Hoopa Movie. Hoopa Unbound is a major plot spoiler for the movie, and if it were being used in the same manner that Mega Diancie was in the last movie, then it wouldn't have been revealed until June or July, just before the movie releases.

Ash will be attempting his sixth Gym Battle by the end of this month. At the rate they are taking, he could potentially have eight Kalos Badges by the end of the year.

Mega Evolution Special Act IV is set for release this fall. To my understanding, both Alan and Mairin were headed back to Kalos following Act III. Furthermore, the logo of which includes a bright red and lime green gradient color in the numeral for IV.

To me, the signs are pointing to a Kalos Sequel game, and I've yet to see some evidence that contradicts this.

Yellow is not the canonical Generation I game, and it certainly isn't the third version. It's a special Pikachu edition inspired by the original series of the anime at the time of its run to buy time to finish Gold and Silver. None of Yellow's exclusive locations and NPCs appear in any other game. Red's team isn't limited to Yellow as he can easily assemble it in RGB, plus it's more of a symbolic thing than everything.

From my understanding, X, Y, OR, and AS all have a specific data value that allows sixth generation-native Pokemon to be caught in them and traded between each Main Series game. There were six different values, with X, Y, OR, and AS taking up for of those values. This indicates that there are two more games that can produce sixth generation-native Pokemon. Unless they're just there to be a waste of space, it does limit to two more Main Series games left this Generation. What they are is the question.

He's from Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, and SoulSilver, not Yellow.

Red and Green (plus Blue, which didn't change anything in the plot or significantly in whatever else other than Cerulean Cave's layout) are the canonical Generation I games. FireRed and LeafGreen as Generation III remakes confirm this. HeartGold and SoulSilver confirm Red, Green, Blue, FireRed, LeafGreen, as well ss Gold and Silver (which were adapted with some Crystal plot elements in the remakes such as Eusine and Suicune).

Yellow is not canonical. It's called "Pocket Monsters: Pikachu" (not "Pocket Monsters: Yellow") and "Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition" for a reason.

Basically this. It's the nostalgia over Johto/Kanto that makes /vp/ love HGSS. It does nothing to improve on Gen II other than update it to look pretty. If it was released now it would get torn to shreds.
