Actually, having a pokemon that can evolve if you give it enough pokedollars would be interesting. It could even evolve normally but via trading, so giving it money to evolve means you avoid that hassle but have a weaker final-form mon.

They'd simply have different roles.
Natural could be a wolf/husky-like mon, decent bulky attacker, while the Cheated evo would be a pedigree dog with a stalling/hindering moveset. Probably Normal/Fighting and Normal/Dark, respectively.

This sounds like a cool idea but idk how "giving" pokedollars would work, unless it was a signature move that works the opposite of Pay Day or something where the damage is increased depending on how much money you spend when used (scaled so that it isn't so ridiculously overpowered if you're a money hoarder / Jew).
