I know it's part of the strategy and whatnot, but it would be way better if the pokemon on the right and left didn't have target restrictions.

not advertised enough in the story it was involved in. The Six-sage encounter in BW would have been perfect for a triple/rotation battle, even if the mons involved were low leveled if you were exhausted from fighting the elite 4

hell, when double battles came to be in R/S you had double battle encounters and even a gym where the battles were double as well. The Emerald re-make incorporated it into the plot via Team battle AND multi-battle with Steven. That's how it got so popular in the first place.

What went wrong is you only have like ten of them in Gen V, and I'm not sure if you have any in Gen VI besides the Maison, Cafes, and that one lady in ORAS who'll battle you once per day. People are less likely to want to play it against opponents when they have such little experience with it.

I really want Pokémon to raise the number of main game double/triple/rotation battles, and make it so double battles can be against more than two Pokémon like in Emerald.

That would get annoying really fast.

Triple battles just don't feel fresh and new to me, I prefer Rotation battles all the way.

Triple and rotation battles became way more easier to understand in 6th Gen. Had trouble understanding what was going on in 5th Gen, especially the rotation battles. Now they're fun as fuck.

I always wished they'd do more extra challenges in battles, like timed battles for example. A wider variety of forms of battle would make the games a lot more interesting.

They didn't push it as much as Double battles and the specific moves are kinda still lacking.

Triple battles/Rotations weren't as common as doubles with a grand missed opportunity having Cilan, Cress and Chili be your opponents. Granted it was the first gym but they could've added a tutorial match somewhere.

Fuck Sky Battles. Those things are the reason why so many flying type Pokemon models look dumb as shit, and it wasn't even a good feature.

I played through X and Y, and both times I didn't have a Pokemon that could do a Sky Battle on my team.

I had to go out of my way hundreds of hours after beating X to finally do one, and it wasn't worth it.
