I have a feeling Zygarde's story line is gonna involve Volcanion.

Zygarde is supposed to represent the eco system and Volcanion represents power plants, which usually damage the eco system. Maybe we'll get two versions again with both of them becoming mascots.

I really like Zygarde. It's a shame it has such a shitty movepool though.
It also makes for some nice re-designs on some Pokémon.

The geometry is kind of a turn-off and makes it less "pokemon-like", but I like it on its own. Here's to hoping it gets cool megas/formes/primals.

Third mascots of a trio usually have shitty presentation in the first 2 games of a gen. Rayquaza in R/S is just there sleeping on Sky Pillar. D/P Giratina was just stands there in a specific room in Turnback Cave. Kyurem in B/W does the same in Giant Chasm and all of them had no relevance on the first 2 games outside of optional pokedex completion. The Kalos games would most likely flesh out Zygarde's lore and purpose more.

by this time kyurem, Giratina all at least had cards in the TCG and some mercy before their games were announced
all Zygarde has a blurb on the official page, dreamworld art (obligatory) and some merch. literally a chain and a toy. that's it.

I like the design, typing, and niche it has right now. What's utterly baffling is why they would make its signature move worse than Earthquake in every regard, especially when it already gets Earthquake.

What are you guys sayin'? They're 100% better than EQ except for a totally acceptable drop in BP. Trapping the opponent or hitting flying types will be nightmarish, a guessing game about which set it runs (I feel the Arrows will be the worst to deal with).

Thousand Arrows and Thousand Waves haven't even been confirmed actually exclusive to Zygarde

If anything Zygarde's problem is the ability that I suspect will be changed as in buffed. Imagine if it had Shed Skin as standard ability or Marvel Scale.

Earthquake hits your allies in double and triple battles, but Land's Wrath does not. If you're using Zygarde in doubles or triples Land's Wrath is a perfectly valid move choice.

I fucking love Zygarde. He's basically a Planarian flat worm, which are basically known to split and regenerate a lot when damaged. Plus, he's partially based on Jormungandr. What's not to love?

No, I heard it was meant to be Jormungand and therefore very long, and instead it's some shitty, stubby, leech-looking thing. I kinda like the hexagon motif. Just feels like the design needed a bit more time on the drawing board, especially when it's the big cheese of the region.
