6/10 national dex, too much poison, too many type imbalances like Psychic having a clear advantage over the rest of the dex
8/10 feel. Just a kid on a genuine adventure.
Johto:
9/10 music
7/10 dex, Johto was notorious for its underpowered Pokemon. But when everything is equally underpowered, it works out. There were some top-tier designs in there.
9/10 feel, lovely consistently rustic region.
Hoenn:
7.8/10 too many trumpets
7/10 dex, there aren't many offensive Pokemon to choose from in a region where you're up against a lot of bulkier Pokemon.
7/10 feel, the inconsistency of RSE and ORAS makes this difficult to judge.
Sinnoh:
7/10 music in the daytime, 8/10 at night
5/10 dex, easily the weakest overall national dex.
6/10 feel, it's nice while you're playing, but nothing really sticks with you after you turn it off.
Unova:
10/10 music. The Plasma Grunt theme alone should justify this.
9/10 dex. If you can't find a bro in Unova, you're just not looking.
8/10 feel. It's an industrialized region. The cities are large and the wilderness is relatively small. It's more about exploring individual cities and routes than going all over the map freely.
Kalos:
6/10 music. It's not very memorable.
8/10 dex, this gen was about quality over quantity. Not a huge selction of new Pokemon, but the ones that are there are pretty tough.
7/10 feel, the whole game feels like a non-threatening stroll except for the final Team Flare bit. When you're pretty much the only one with a full team of six, nothing really bothers you.
