I have high hopes for the next games. I believe ORAS feels rushed because they weren't originally part of the plan for Gen VI, and were released before the XY Sequels so they could continue to work on them.
Expectations:
>A pair of games, each with a new Forme for Zygarde that will know either Thousand Arrows or Thousand Waves respectively.
>Expanded Kalos Region, with new areas such as Southern Kalos, and a new Battle Island area similar to that of Sinnoh's Fight/Survival/Resort Areas. Battle Frontier, Contest Hall, and Ribbon Syndicate should be included.
>Two new Protagonists with an expanded Trainer Customization. New Rivals as well as the Rivals from XY returning in new, not as important roles.
>New Gym Leaders and Elite Four to compliment the changes made from XY. Malva will be Team Flare leader, with Wulfric probably replacing her as Elite Four. New Champion of course, but preferrably not Korrina. Emma maybe.
>AZ sacrificing himself somehow, gifting his Floette to the new Player.
>More pondering to Gen II. Sudowoodo in a route, Secret Potion Event, etc. Team Flare could be trying to contact Lysandre, etc.
>Unown and Arceus Ruins that serves as the setting for a Delta Episode-like Event in the post game featuring Cynthia. A Mega/Primal/Divine Arceus that will be in the Hoopa Movie will be the Key Legendary in this Event. Zinnia might also be involved, solving the mystery of Aster.
>A lot of new Mega Evolutions, specifically from the Johto, Sinnoh, and Unova Regions. Some Kalos as well.
That's pretty much it, I believe. XY feel off intentionally, most likely to set up the plot for the Sequels. ORAS were a last minute decision, which is why they feel rushed. The next games will be up with Emerald/Pt/HGSS/B2W2's standards.
