I dumped my starters in gen 4, 5 and ORAS. You need a full team of bros for maximum fun. Steamrolling the whole game with the same two STAB moves is not that fun.

I'm wondering about just stopping using starters altogether. It's something I've always done, but I don't like the very idea of starters. Players should go out and catch their own first Pokemon to start their adventure. Starting off with something no one else has is just cheap.

I use my starter on the first playthrough of a new game and then pick up the first one of my faves I see and dump my starter on the next playthrough.

Best game I ever played was the Platinum where my best bro was a Bibarel and the rest of my team was shit like Cherrim. it took so long to beat Cynthia but it was still the most rewarding Pokemon file I've ever had.

XY is too easy even if I dump my starter for something weird, I might have to do a team of my shitty bro mons again.
