I'd be all for a Gen 1 remake of Yellow. Rumour has it that it's planned for Pokemon's 20th anniversary.

However, we've already had Yellow as a sequal/remake itself, and we obviously had the advance remakes. As such, if it was remade, I'd want the following:

(1) Only a yellow remake, not two new versions that're expected to satisfy us for 2 or 3 years but rather would just fill in the gap to Gen 7 (I get the feeling a lot of players have played Kanto to death and if it was just a carbon copy with all the new mons in it, I think a lot of people would feel they hadn't got their money's worth);
(2) As a result of (1), it wouldn't delay the next game for another 2 or 3 years.
(3) New storyline, new characters, new areas to explore and not a carbon copy of Kanto as it was in previous games (I feel they did a decent job of this in ORAS and it was better than RBY vs FRLG - same region, but different enough game overall);
(4) Not just 'islands added on' as it felt like (to me, anyway) in FRLG.
