It's kind of a waste, really. If regular Camerupt had Sheer Force it would actually be stronger than its mega with a Life Orb

What are you implying here? The base form doesn't have Sheer Force so it doesn't outdamage the mega. Sheer Force on a mega should only be given to pokemon whose base form lacks the ability otherwise it would be outdamaged by the base form.

I see this from people in way too many threads, and I'm not sure why. A Sheer Force Mega with increased offensive stats will outdamage the base Pokemon with a Life Orb on top of all the other boosts it might get, and they don't react like this with a Tough Claws Mega. Gotta wonder why they get so anal about this particular ability.
