Every couple of weeks we get someone saying some uber should be OU because they're outclassed in Ubers, when that's a retarded argument.

You know, I don't think Deoxys Defense was really that bad. Unless it was holdin a Red Card, I could just set up in its face and win, although this was with Charizard-X and half-assed baton Pass teams back before Baton Pass was banned and everybody was trying it out to see if it really was that good. Now, Deoxys Speed did deserve the ban. That thing was obnoxious, since unlike the Defense version which mostly just spewed hazards, the speed version had enough muscle to sweep late game.

Deoxys-S was basically a Greninja without protean that outsped scarfers. It wasn't that bad.

The thing is, OU is supposed to be defined as the most inclusive possible tier that isn't unbalanced. By definition, Ubers is unbalanced and certain Pokémon that would unbalance OU just plain will lose out.

The problem with Deoxys is that they made three of its four forms way too similar to each other stat-wise. So at least one of those three is going to be outclassed.

I don't think regular Deoxys was ever meant to accomplish anything the other three could not. It simply exists as a "regular" form and in doing that it doesn't accomplish anything other gen 1-3 legends could not, yet is still strong and fast enough to stand out on its own.

They could have compromised with a 50/110/110/110/110/110 or similar, but that would be so incredulously lukewarm that anyone with Ruby/Sapphire would have been screwed over.

There's nearly a dozen Psychic-types in OU, the whole "Psychic is a shit type" argument is absolute trash. Hell, a pure Psychic-type just rose up to OU in the last shift.

Fucks over Xerneas, fucks over Mega Salamence since they usually run Dragon Dance, fucks over Rock Polish Bulk Up and Swords Dance Groudon, fucks over Calm Mind and Bulk Up Mewtwo, fucks over Arceus and pretty much anything else with boosting. Hell, it wouldn't just be viable, it would turn ubers into a yo-yo hanging from its tentacles.

BL just means that there isn't enough usage for it to be classified as OU. Anything banned can be used in a higher tier. Making a another blacklist would make no sense because you can only use it in Ubers and only Ubers.
