If you mean people portraying Pokemon as themselves, again, I don't see the point. You see creators putting themselves into their works all the time. It's just something they do.
With things like Locke or whatever, the guy who's made it doesn't seem to be that pretentious or whatever. We don't know REALLY know what the guy's life is like outside of his drawings; maybe he actually has a job. Plenty of people aren't moving out of their parent's houses nowadays because it's actually cheaper.
I'm not saying there aren't the deadbeats, or the lazy fuckwits who will gladly take advantage of any sort of disability they have as an excuse for the way they live.
Like with any thing you take up, moderation is necessary. If someone lets an OC of theirs rule their life, or they become it to the degree of the furries or whatever that actually BELIEVE they're that animal, then that's the level of mental illness. But just drawing comics like this, I don't see much of an issue, unless someone wants to explain what the issue is to me.
