here's a list of thing i wanted and got disappointed by:

Aside from Plat and gen 5 I'd say it's about the same tier just with convenience in terms of real difficulty.
The difference is that GF didn't accommodate for the EXP you gain for a capture now.

Part of the reason people were so hyped for BF is because raising competetive pokemon is a major pain in the ass in gen 3. With the new breeding mechanics, the BF would be much more approachable.
